I hate Ann, but I watched that video and its quite clear that she was just ambushed and railroaded over by the platitudinal blonde chick in the left window who just kept blabbing and blabbing on about her point.
Democrats arent going to get through the republicans by hammering on them. The irony was the guy in the right window was spouting off about “dialogue”, which in actual fact, IS the only way for us to move forward. We cant just sit in our polar opposite corners and bark out our opinions and expect the other side to listen.
Anyway, unfortunately the points go by default to Ann here. They almost had her with the bin laden stuff, but then they blew it by talking too much.
Funny, I saw Ann getting to speak. I heard her say that Afghanistan was going swimmingly and that Clinton didn’t catch bin Laden. I saw that she was asked a direct question and she stared stupidly into the camera, stuttered and then asked for Sean Hannity.
She got more respect than she both gives and deserves.
If you think that Democrats are going to win a dialogue with Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity, you just haven’t been paying attention for the last decade, as evidenced by her running away once she realizes she is losing the debate.
These people (Hannity and Coulter, specifically) need to be humiliated. Nothing else will work.
Interestingly, it seems to be starting to happen. “Afganistan is going swimmingly” Hah! Sometimes they just humiliate themselves.
So you havn't actually watched Ann Coulter or Sean Hannity before? (or Rush, or O'Reilly, of Savage). The tactic you describe is the on favored by Coulter and her ilk when they disagree with someone.
Coulter simply managed to get herself outgunned this time. Had it been a weaker person asking the questions (Alan Colmes for example) she would have gladly shouted them down and bullied them into submission without answering their questions. What I saw wasn’t railroading anyway. She was asked questions that put her on the spot, called on her lies, and she simply couldn’t take it.
As a general principle, Ms. Coulter is entitled to expect that if she’s asked a question, she won’t be interrupted as she answers it. Under that guideline, she’s in the right (no pun intended) and her interlocutors in the wrong.
However, that ignores the fact that this talk-over-your-opponent tactic is a staple of these programs, and Ms. Coulter has never (to my knowledge) leapt to the defense of another guest who was being pummelled by interruptions when that guest was on the other side of the political fence. You can’t make your interview career, so to speak, by profiting by a breach of rules and then demand that the rules be enforced when it’s your turn to be disadvantaged by them.
Truly, she seems uncofortable getting a taste of her own medicine.
It may be “unfair” for her to be so roundly trounced, but it’s damned fun to watch. And she truly deserves no better. She’s had her say. Shut her the fuck up already.
Which is especially pertinent, since Sean Hannity was doing exactly that to the other guy in the interview at the beginning of the video…

Hmmm, now that you mention it, she does sound like a pompus bitch who is nowhere near as intelligent as she tries to make herself seem.
As talk-show interuptions go, that was pretty mild. AC just didn’t put up much effort to get counter the talk-over effort by the other woman. I thought Hannity was doing a lot more aggressive talk-over to the other guy. But… does the video show AC storming off the set? I didn’t see it. She seems to be squirming and getting ready possibly to leave, but does the video actually show it? She seemed more concerned with flicking her hair around than anything else. The bit about Afghanistan going “swimmingly” is just laughable. Things are arguably better there than Iraq, but that’s not saying much.
Platitudinal blonde chick, because Kirsten Powers and Brown were able to stay on point and talk about the issues? The only Platitudinal blonde chick I saw was the one with the Adam’s apple spouting her usual drivel and flinging her hair around because she wasn’t getting enough attention.
Watch the video that preceded that one and you’ll see she was in fact allowed to speak and why it was probably a good idea to shut her up for her own sake.
