Did anyone else see the fatal train wreck that was Crossfire last night? Oh… my… god… no – there is no god! Not in any world where I have to listen to that screaming harpie prat on about liberal this and liberal that, her head bobbing like some boneless chicken about to peck Begala’s eye out. Oh – Begala looked pissed! Like who is CNN to pair me, an actual reporter and campaign advisor with this banshee reject! Paul looked at her like you might look at a particularly nasty strain of cobra – wearing a miniskirt.
And her interview ‘questions’ – were there any? For those of you who missed it, a synopsis of her interview technique: Bwak bwak bwak bwak bwak!!! Well, Ann, I’d say once again you’ve gotten all your facts wrong, the truth BWAK!! Bwak bwak!!Ann, againBwak bwak bwak!!! If you’d quit interrupting me bwak bwak bwak bwakbwakbwak!!
Criminy! I’d rather be stuffed into a room full of mosquitoes while naked and bleeding from my anus than listen to her prattle. As the next host, I’d rather see a addleplated and moldy Ronald Reagan, mumbling about how Bonzo would solve the Middle East. I’d rather hear a room full of mosquitoes, now full of my corpuscles buzz into a microphone! With feedback!
If we’re going to get bobble-headed, Aryan slut-commentators on the right, I want Michael Moore on the left! – No, I want Noam Chomsky! – and no namby-pamby guests to kerfluffle us with information. I want a switchblade street fight!
Than I’d be able to watch the whole show instead of switching every five seconds. Blargh! CNN, what were you thinking, hiring a nutty, slutty, liar for your show?!?
It’s just more evidence of the pervasiveness of the Vast Liberal Media. Obviously the Powers That Be would like everyone to believe that conservatives are a bunch of psychotic, reactionary idiots, incapable of intelligent debate.
Coulter was on last night 8/5, 7pm EST on CNN. I can only hope they’ve got someone intelligent and attractive tonight, like a decomposing Richard Nixon.
Since Crossfire seems to consist mainly of posturing ideologues barking half-truths and insults at each other, I can’t think of a better place for Ms. Coulter to spend her time.
Oh darn. I love Ann Coulter. Why do I find out too late. Post these things sooner.
And I doubt Anna Nicole could carry on a conversation much less memorize lines. I saw her on Howard Stern. She was either stoned or having trouble with the concept of breathing. Dumb blonde would be a compliment.
I saw that show last night. What a disaster. She was one of the worst hosts I’ve ever seen. That smug look of hers works a little better when you’re on the defensive, but it looks just awful when you use it on your own guests. I suspect she won’t last long.
If they want to get a much more interesting conservative, they should put Jonah Goldberg of the National Review on there. He’s a young smartass something like a cross between Tucker Carlson and P.J. O’Rourke.
Bunch of liberals who won’t even listen to a conservative here. What is “bwak”? A chicken sound? Were her arguments so persuasive that you couldn’t stand to listen to them?
The fact of the matter is that Ann Coulter brilliantly articulates the prinicpled ideology of the conservative movement in this country and is feared and reviled because she is its most effective spokesperson. Her utter disdain for the lack of moral clarity of liberalism comes through loud and clear and does not split hairs. Neither does Annie have split ends. I’m sorry I missed it. She is sexier than Jeanne Kirkpatrick or Margaret Thatcher.
Taggert, I don’t think shouting and name-calling is “brilliantly articulate”. I agree that her utter disdain comes through “loud and clear”–that tends to happen when you yell at people all the time.
Please don’t try and say “the fact of the matter”. What everyone, both conservative and liberal, thinks about Ann Coulter is 100% subjective. I think you’ll find that there are even conservatives that are tired of her shtick, because like the extremists on any side of any debate, she draws attention away from rational people capable for forming coherent thought.
Prime example–she says the kid burning his shoe on the plane is the liberals’ fault and uses it as justification for going to war with Iraq. Please tell me how that “brilliantly articulates the principled ideology of the conservative movement”.
taggert, there can be a fine line between parody and trolling, and I think you’ve crossed it. While this may have started out as witty comments about conservative thought, for the past month or so you have essentially been endorsing extreme positions you do not agree with in order to get a reaction: the very definition of troll. A whoosh once in a while is no big deal, but when you never break character it becomes a lot more like a concerted effort to troll. Don’t you think you’ve had enough fun testing everyone’s Satiro-detector for subtle nuance differentiation, and are ready to play it straight for a while?
The Daily Howler along with many other points out clearly she is a liar.
Her book asserts many times how ‘if you do a nexus search you will find’ then if you actually do that search you will not find what she says or you will find she is distorting the the facts.
How could CNN give her time on the air at all?
Why CNN would want to host a show with that lying, unlistenable harpie is beyond me. My two theories; 1) CNN has fully bought into the ‘liberal bias’ charges of her book ‘Slander’ and is wrongly attempting to compensate. 2) CNN is laughing at her charges and puts her on the screen to say “Holy shit, look at this nutcase.” Personally, I’ve seen far, far too much of this nutcase already, thank you very much.
Hey, has anyone noticed that the sobriquet tossed at David Brock (he’s lying, he’s a slut, he’s not to be trusted, I found a typo in footnote 12128, etc.) actually apply to Ann, not David?!
It’s more evidence for my Conservative Projection Theory. Have ya heard of that one?
