The settlers MMP

{{{StickyBuns}}} while it ain’t good news RT has sleep apnea, it’s good news that y’all know it now and that he’s willin’ to use the CPAP.

In other news, I went over to the church house and filled up a big and a small cooler with ice. Hozi (the ice machine) makes lots and lots and lots of ice. I didn’t even make a dent in the ice. As I was scoopin’ it was dumpin’ out even more ice. Now I am waitin’ upon the pool place to tell me the Polaris is ready to be picked up. They promised me it would be ready around eleven. We shall see. They’ve had it a week just to put new wheels on the poor thing. I can hand vac the cee-mint pond and indeed did yestiddy evenin’, but I’d rather let Polaris do the job. Oh, and I made coleslaw.

It has happened to me before that I’ve posted in the wrong thread, though I don’t think my posts have been deleted (so unfortunately, they’re still there for others to see my foolishness if they’d ever happen to come across the thread.)

So much to do today, and I’ve only got one major thing accomplished (renewing my bus pass.)

Egg salad is assembled and standing by for lunch time. I need to assemble the lawn mower. Not right now, tho. I’m taking a break.

Snackage for the cee-mint pond consists of boiled peanuts plus cheese and crackers. I don’t know whether to serve wine or 'shine. If I were to add some pork rinds, pickled aigs, and vienna snausages it would be like the ultimate redneck snack bar!

Mysteries of the water department… I guess I need to talk to a human as we’re being directed to reduce our 2013 water usage by something like 28%, but we weren’t here in 2013, so I have no idea how much we must cut back.

There’s up to a $500/month penalty for not reducing water use adequately, so I really need to know what I’m up against.

Moonshine is certainly in keeping with (shudder) boiled peanuts.
:dubious:

9 out of 10 Mumpers think boiled peanuts the Teh Yuck!

Love me some boiled peanuts.

I am still laying around in my robe. So lazy. I have tons of housework I could be doing but don’t feel like doing anything. I may just give in an go back to sleep.

I’ve never had boiled peanuts so I can’t say one way or the other about them.
Are they boiled to a mush?

{{{Sticky}}}

So much to do today, so why aren’t I doing it.

**sari **- I had boiled peanuts once. I swear, they tasted like little mud balls. Never had any desire to try them again. ick.

The egg salad was yum. Guess it’s time to assemble the mower. Or take down the laundry - it’s dry already!!

Maybe if you put some Old Bay on them?

Ok enough goofing off
time to get some irk done around here.

I’m doing a lot of things to try to get rid of a stomachache. :frowning: Trying a ginger ale now.

It is a known, medical fact that boiled peanuts cause sloth, one of the Seven Deadly Sins. :dubious:

Took the haz stuff to the landfill. They have Porta Johns there, in case you have to take a dump at the dump. I stoped at Kroger, and got some used meat for tonight’s chili, and some watermelon for snacking.

I do not like boiled peanuts.
I would not eat them at the cee-ment pond,
I would not eat them under a palm frond,
I would not eat them here or there,
I would not eat them anywhere.

sticky, glad RT, got his apnea treated.

I have seen this vile dish once. They are shelled and, well, boiled. They are still intact, but the red, paper like material covering the nut (they are legumes, actually, not nuts) is truly nasty and sloughs off in a messy wad.

Excuse me, I’m sick…

I need some lunch

I think it would not be boiled peanuts, even if I had some peanuts to boil

The new mower works! Assembly consisted of unfolding and securing the handle, then feeding the pull cord thru an eye bolt on the handle. Then I had to fill it with oil and gas. First pull, and it started. No priming, no fuss. And the self-propel works great. Plus it’s really easy to adjust the height - our last mower was a pain in the patoot to change.

So huzzah for new, working mower!!

MIL called, since she couldn’t reach FCD - I expect he couldn’t hear his phone over the shop noises. Anyway, FIL had to go back for a followup on his surgery at Duke (not the knee, the procedure I choose not to describe) and they said his recovery has been exceptional. So yay for that! After all he went thru, it’s great to know that he shouldn’t have to go thru it again.

Most of the laundry is in - jeans are still out because they were a wee bit damp. No biggie - I’ll give them another hour in the sun.

Everyone knows the only way to eat peanuts is honey roasted. Boiling is something people from Georgia do.

Floridians boil them also. Yet another reason I’m glad to have left that state…

Just finished hooking up the Roku to the TV in the bedroom. That set is supposedly internet ready, but it won’t let me get Netflix any more. Now I can. I hate that TV - Don’t buy a Vizio - it’s crap!!!

<deep calming breaths>

Peanuts are boiled in the shell until they are softened. They should not be mushy. If they are mushy they are overdone, like peas. Peanuts are legumes after all.

Ok, about to get everyone in to tie on the feedbag. Hotdawgs, slaw, and chips in continuance of a day of fine dinin’.
