I’ll second Liam, Sean, and Dominic, and add Ian, Owen (or Owain, if you’re Welsh), and Bran. It’s the Celtic names. What is it with the Celtic names?
I despise the name Todd, however. It’s almost as bad as Chip. Or Chet.
Four of us were talking at work – a 20something female, a 30something female, a 30something male, and me (40something female). The youngest woman told a story about a male friend of hers who went to Florida for vacation and didn’t come back, because he hooked up with a woman named “Kiki.” And all his friends said, “well, Kiki, of course he stuck around.”
So we started trying to think – what would the male name be that would be totally self-explanatory in a similar story. It was the guy in the conversation who came up with the answer – Sergei. All three of us women got dreamy expressions and said, in unison, “Ah, Sergei.”
That’s definitely going to be my cabana boy’s name.
