The Shield--3/30

Well…

Shit.

I’m sorry, that’s all I have to say right now.

I was interrupted near the end of the episode.

Can someone tell me what happened right before Tevon and Shane exchanged blows? I heard up to Shane saying “but you should know your place” to which Tevon replied “What? Like the back of a bus?”

What did they say right after that?

Shane said something like “What? You think you’re driving the bus?”
and Tevon said “I didn’t want to hurt your feelings” (or something to that effect) “But Vic has got things planned for me.”
and Shane said “Vic is my best friend.”
and I can’t remember how Tevon responded, but that’s when the fight broke out…

Shane referred to Tavon as a “darkie” after which Tavon hit him and then the brawl was on.

“I’ve been Vic’s best friend for 7 years. Do you really think he’s going to shove me aside for some Darkie?”

I’m still wondering what’s going to happen with that “other” crew. It seems like they got some props for streaking at the end of the episode, but in the back of my mind I’m thinking they’re dirty somehow.

I WIN!!!

I predicted before the season ever started that Tevon would bite it by Episode 4. Now, I don’t know if he is dead (people have survived that before), but if Episode 5 starts off talking about Tevon’s death, boy-howdy, I get ten bucks.

Now, as for the Decoy Squad…

They’re on the level. They’re just doing their job, and having a little fun at it. Their tactics are different than the Strike Team… working through subterfuge rather than fear and force. The problem is that Aceveda/Claudette wants to use them to replace the Strike Team, which makes a very precarious balance. Further, I don’t believe the Decoy Squad is aware that they’re being used in this way.

Jesus Christ, that fight between Tevon and Shane was harsh. Downright dirty. None of this crap where guys stand around and exchange punches… they tackled each other and went on to rip each other, and the room, to shreds. Did anyone notice that the first 20-30 seconds of the fight was one continuous shot? Christ, I love the cinematography of The Shield.

And the horrible, horrible irony of the final line: “It’s too bad Shane and Tevon couldn’t have seen this!”

Excellent show.

Not to mention that immediately after the big fight, the next shot is Vic telling Claudette “You know that problem? It’s all taken care of.”

I just finished watching it and DAMN. That was a FIGHT.

(But does anyone think that otherwise the season is off to a bit of a slow start? I can’t wait for the money train to hit the fan.)

I thought the season hit the ground running too hard. It slowed down significantly in Episode 3, then got a big jump in intensity in this episode… but in a different direction.

Next episode will deal more with the Money Train, according to previews…

When I realized that Mrs. Shane hit Tevon with a freakin’ iron, I knew he was toast, but sending him through the windshield capped it (though usually people thrown through the glass are decapitated, IIRC.)

That really sucks, because I liked Tevon and was really impressed that his character would suck it up and make peace even though he was in the right.

Oh, well, once again, Shane mucks up the works. This keeps up and I see him doing something really stupid like turning on the team to save his own stupid ass from some huge mistake.

As for the moneytrain, they’ll find out the money is marked, but will they figure out that it is only $50k of the millions? And will they ice the dealer before he can rat them out? These are the big questions.
