Wow.
So much packed into the last two minutes of the show. The rest of it paled in comparison.
Wow indeed.
Wow indeed. This episode was great. I’m kinda upset that the Strike team was unable to join the other district’s task force, but oh well.
I can’t wait to see how the Strike Team and Aceveda cope with Kavanaugh in later episodes.
Oh, and the ending (in the barn)… Speechless.
To heck with you all! I had just about gotten over my Shield withdrawal from my miserable ISP, Comcast’s removal of FX from my basic cable tier and now this!
Roast in hell! Roast!
I’ve got to believe it’s not what it looks like re: Claudette (I won’t say more out of respect for those who may not have seen it yet and wish to participate in the thread). Although if it is, I agree: Wow.
Another great episode. I’m glad they’re starting to go into the whole Acaveda storyline again. And what a fucking scumbag he was, trying to talk Lem into giving up the team to keep Kavanaugh from prying into his own personal affairs (for lack of a better word). The previews for next week look even more intense, with Kavanaugh visiting Antoine. This is the best show on TV.
The thing that makes this season all the more tense is the possibility it’s the last…so ANYTHING could happen. I just hope that, if Vic goes, it’s in a blaze of glory. Shane can go to prison and be some bubba’s bitch for all I care, though.
Those three dipshits don’t have the combined brainpower of half of Vic. They should do whatever the fuck he says.
I disagree. Shane is a dipshit, and his wife and baby are a huge liability to his ability to stand with the other guys. Lem and Ronnie are ok guys with decent brains, though they’re not criminal masterminds like Vic is. That isn’t really a slam a Vic; he knows how to think like a criminal and it makes him an effective policeman, but when he starts acting like a criminal he should expect to get taken down and to destroy everything and everyone he touches, just like the criminals he busts every day.
Ronnie was right when they said they should each hire their own lawyer and let four lawyers throw everything they can at Kavanaugh. Plus, doing that is a normal and resonable thing to do, and makes you look less guilty.
Or they could put the Strike Team, Aceveda and Kavanaugh in a room together and let them all just kill each other.
From the setup, what I think is going to happen is that Aceveda is going to be the one who blows things up for Kavanaugh in the end. Once Kavanaugh talks to whatshisname from last season, the big gangster guy, he’ll find out Aceveda set up his rapist to be killed and the pressure will REALLY start to come down. Aceveda will be forced to try to destroy the investigation to save himself.
My VCR cut off the tape right after Cleavon saw his sister was still alive and had his outburst as they were leading him away, and then Claudette fell down the stairs. Did she faint, or did he push her? What did I miss? It was all really intense, and then… nothing!
WARNING: I’m revealing the ending of the show.
You didn’t miss much; the ending didn’t resolve what happened. They called the paramedics, and Dutch tried to reawaken Claudette or get some response, with no result. The ending shot of the show is Dutch sitting down, leaning against the wall and looking distraught.
I am a bit confused by the opening to the show; where they flash clips from previous episodes.
They showed the punk unbuckling his belt and getting ready to make Aceveda his bitch… but nothing during the show had anything to do with it.
Whassup wit’ dat?
I’m guessing they’re establishing the dynamic behind Aceveda’s reasons to interfere with IAD’s investigation and how his connection with Antwan was made. It’s a long shot that first-time viewers would get all the details, but at least it lays a groundwork for the tension, they would hope.
Great episode of the best television show out there.
I still say there is some sexual tension between Vic and his lawyer.
Could be some divisiveness in the strike team at this point. Lem is conflicted for sure, and now we get to hear Ronnie’s point of view for the first time in Shield history. I like hearing from Ronnie, obviously he has more brains than Shane and Lem.
The Aceveda tie in with the jail hit on his rapist is the big story of the season of course. I definitely see Vic and Aceveda working together again to keep Kavanaugh out of this mess. Maybe another inside hit, but this time on Antwoine Mitchell?
Great to see Antwoine back. Anthony Anderson is a great actor.
I think Dutch is going to have some serious guilt issues over the Claudette thing, no matter what happens next week. He felt like he was doing the right thing for pushing her to go back to the interview, when she was obviously falling apart at the seams. He won’t be able to forgive himself for his “tough love” act.
Next week should be another fantastic episode, I can’t wait.
OK, I was expecting something really unusual. What was the “wow” for, other than this is almost always a great show? Other than the Claudette thing at the end, it was pretty typical, and even that “thing” wasn’t unexpected. And I watched it 3 times and I can say confidently that Dutch didn’t do it.
Anyway, great episode, but I’m stil confused about all the “wows”. I was half expecting that cop from the other precinct to be in league with IAD and to try and trick Vic into some shadey transactions wrt the drug bust.
Dutch did the right thing though, and it worked like it needed to work. And if she pulled a Frank Pembleton, then she did it doing what she did best.
John Mace, I shared your apparently unfounded suspicion about the other cop.
BTW, did anyone but me recognize a very heavily bearded Jimmy Johnson (former coach of the Dallas Cowboys and current NFL analyst) in the cage? He kept saying they should look for “Terry.” I can only assume he was ranting about Terry Bradshaw, his co-analyst. I wonder what the story of him being on the show AND getting a speaking part is.
That was him, really? Can anyone confirm this. That would be pretty funny in my opinion.
You mean other than the fact that Claudette is probably dead?* What more would you like to see to justify a “Wow?” An all singing, all dancing, all nude episode? Danni’s baby emerge from the womb like the dragster alien in Alien?
I’m basing this on the fact that I distinctly heard Lem say something like “Oh God, look at her neck.” Ergo, I think the fall broke her neck.
