New episode tonight! Hope the few Shiled fans here didn’t forget, or at least have it on a TiVo season pass.
Should be interesting to see the fallout from the Lem situation (don’t know if I should still be worried about spoilers) as well as Kavanaugh’s (I’m assuming still ongoing) investigation. According to the blurb I remember reading on the episode guide, “Vic and Ronnie are suspicious of Shane”. Anyway, more to come after the show actually airs.
Bianculli raved about it on NPR today. He’s seen several episodes – maybe the whole season (!) – didn’t give much away except to say that “you won’t be leaning back in your chair” in the final episode.
Hell, who leans back in any of the episodes?
Looks like they run a bit long tonight, heads up for you TiVo folks.
I loved this episode. Whole lotta tension between Vic and everyone else. It was also interesting to see how Shane dealt with his grief. That hour flew by!
So many new angles exposed this ep. The Assistant Chief’s taken a new interest in Mackey. Dutch suspects Kavanaugh of shenanigans. Wimms wants to trust Vic but…y’know…the past. Corrine and Dannielle have renewed beefs. Aceveda remains a snake in the grass.
I predict Shane dies this season by self-destructivness and Kavanaugh dead by Vic by the end of the series. And a ton more asskicking and ballbreaking (and, whatthehell…skylight-diving) by the team. I can hardly wait for next week.
Wow. As intense as ever. Looks like, right now, Dutch is the only one who can save Vic from Kavanaugh (although I imagine Shane would step up if they ever got around to indicting Vic - if he doesn’t die first). I heard (but haven’t confirmed) the show got picked up for a 7th season - will anybody even be left of Vic’s crew by then?
The Shield did get picked up for a 7th (and final) season. Does anyone know where “Season 5.5” is on the web? This was about a 15 minute prequel to Season 6. It takes place between Lem’s death and just after his funeral.
This prequel was advertised as being on bud.tv, but apparently, it’s no longer there. From advertisments for The Shield DVDs, it looks like the prequel is on the Season 5 DVD set. However, I’d rather see the prequel for free…
so glad to have one of my favorite shows back. I was actually somewhat surprised to see Kavanagh back…after Whitaker won the Oscar (and he’s known for the last 6 months or so that he would), I didn’t think he’d be so eager to be on cable TV another season.
It’s hard to say if the scene with the cats eating the room of dead bodies and leaving blood paw prints all over was the grossest or CUTEST thing ever?
I’ve never been a big fan because it’s on too late for me, but Mr. K was addicted. He watched last night and was underwhelmed.
I can’t even remember exactly what happened last season, except that they scammed Forest Whittaker into thinking they were doing something bad and were really stinging some bad guys.
I forget about the death of one of the guys. Did he kill himself? I’m foggy on the whole thing.
Kavanaugh told Vic there were cops sitting at his house to bring him in for questioning, so instead of going there he went to where Corinne was staying, leaving his house unprotected so Kavanaugh could go in and plant evidence.
I thought it was the address given for one of the “cousins” of the guy who claimed to have killed Lem. Maybe I’m misremembering (already - there was too much shit going on in that episode).
That was one of the “cousin’s” address. But, didn’t Dutch say that the guys who were confessing worked for Guardo? So it’s possible it WAS Guardo’s crew?
That’s my guess - they’re Guardo’s crew and we’re going to find out later that another gang is behind it.
SO glad it’s back. That was one fantastic episode. You just knew Shane was going back for that gang chick. (What’s up with Shane and his bitchy wife - I can’t remember how that got resolved).
It’s great to have this show back in my TV lineup. I’d missed it a lot.
When we saw the stray cats near the murder house, my first thought was “Oh, no, Dutch is gonna start strangling cats again.” A lot of shocking things have happened on The Shield, but I am still haunted by the memory of Dutch killing that tomcat a couple seasons ago, while looking intently into the dying animal’s eyes.
