The Simpsons 11/13

Not bad so far. Loved the opening. They’ve already done the tandum bike thing before, though. By the way: Pizza’s not for breakfast!

They seem to have forgotten to put in any jokes. Maybe they’re saving them for sweeps.

November IS sweeps month. Unfortunately.

I abandoned the Simpsons earlier this season for the West Wing.

The West Wing isn’t on tonight, so I’m seeing what’s up.

I regret nothing.

Santos or Vinick in '05!

Oooooo-kay.

Now that we’ve seen the test episode, where’s the real one?

Not bad. Not great. Average in every aspect. Meh.

It was okay, I guess. I’d say that it was probably the best episode of the season so far, but that’s a pretty depressing thought.

I did like the sign on the front of the mall: “Bathroom No Longer at End of Weird Hall!”

The opening was good, the rest was all downhill. I did laugh outloud at something, but can’t remember now.

I have to say that the couch gag was one of the best ever, but the rest of the show was a little weak.

It was interesting, but I thought it went on too long. Maybe they knew the show didn’t have much so they stacked the opening.

I recall the writers saying this happens sometimes. Alternately, if the show runs long, they cut out the blackboard scene.

Nothing funny until the closing joke.

.

Homer: Im going to go compete on the professional arm wrestling tour
Marge: How will this affect your job at the nuclear plant?
Homer: Negatively I assume

Only part that made me laugh.

The whole Homer storyline felt like padding - Marge didn’t care what Homer was doing, Homer didn’t care what he was doing. That was just strange. The plot repeated itself - Bart feels sorry for Marge, then enjoys himself, then for some reason cares about the bullies teasing him, then feels sorry for Marge…? The ending was pretty clever; the rat droppings joke, the milk bottles and especially the “Skinner Sucks” sign were funny. But a lot of it didn’t go anywhere.

i give it a great big MEH. except is was nice to see Homer actually succeed at something

Apu’s song was pretty funny, and the couch gag was priceless.

I missed the couch gag! wah! :frowning:
please describe it.

I like the whole scene with the Texan in Moes.

Homer goes: I’ll have a sugar free ginger ale. See if you can make it a little flat.

Then the Texan calls a hundred dollars a “Texas Penny”.

The Krusty “tea jokes” were pretty good. It also had some the funniest “bully jokes” I’ve seen. Their rendition of “My Sharona” was great.

The gag has its own thread

thank you
GOOD GAG!
(so is the other one described in that thread)
