I’m as big a Simpson’s fan as anyone but I don’t get suckered into the “where’s Springfield” debate. The clues are so wildly inconsistent it’s a fool’s errand to try. In the Jr. Camper’s episode they clearly float out the river and into the ocean to the east but in Homer’s Soul Mate he wandered westward to the ocean because “Springfield slopes that way” according to Marge. There is no seacost town of Sprinfgield in the US that is close to Spittle County, Cattle Skull testing ground, the the springfield badlands, the Grand Chasm, etc. etc.
I can’t decide if the series should end in quiet solitude or blasting across the alkalai flats in a jet powered, monkey navigated… 
I gotta steal that bit if I ever get married.
