Bluestacks scares me (terms of service: “We get to spam you with SMS until you tell us to stop, OK?” and similar things), but I may have to try it. I normally play on iOS, but I have an Android tablet too, and tried there – it crashes as well. Still no resolution.
Is there anywhere to send EA a complaint issue I’m having with the game and try to get an answer?
As I’ve mentioned a number of times, I can no longer search for friends. Every time i try, i get kicked off and I lose the server connection.
I CAN take friend requests and accept them no problem. But someone needs to contact me.
I think this is a unique problem to me, as I haven’t heard anyone else complaining about this.
I did try to write something on the iTunes page in a review for the game, and of course, when I hit enter, it crashed! So, i couldn’t even post the problem to the iTunes App page.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
I assume you’ve tried http://help.ea.com to file a complaint?
I’m surprised this game is still going strong. I deleted it last winter before it became all consuming.
One question, have you tried reinstalling it? I was having a ton of problems, then I reinstalled it and it worked fine. Your town is save to your username, so you won’t lose it.
Ditto.
There is hope! I got a spin coin in a gift bag last night.
Stink Fish Pot - don’t worry about cash flow. I have been playing since February and have only in the last three months had enough money to buy things as they came along. I scrimped and saved for everything until that point. Now I keep a million as a minimum at all times, it’s not that much money. It feels like forever, but you will get there. I only have two regrets, not house farming more aggressively earlier in the game - would have helped my cash flow problem. And thinking that $50,000 was a lot of money for donuts when you level up. You can always get more in-game money, but donuts are precious and hard to come by. I only started buying the second chance at 3 donuts in the last few months. I would have a lot more donuts if I had done it all along.
I have not spent any real world cash on the game and will continue in that course. Unless I get a PlayStore gift card for Christmas, then it’s on, bitches!
Oh, that reminds me, I foolishly spent the first 3 or 4 levels of donuts speeding my characters along. Is there anything in-game that ups donut acquisition that I should be aiming for?
Hope you guys enjoy the really nice bath salts that I got you for Christmas and… Uh oh.
You can earn a donut here or there when cleaning up Springfield and at the Sideshow You at Krustyland but those are both random. The only way to really get them, aside from outright buying them, is leveling up.
There is a way to level up by buying a lot of decorations for the XP, then selling them off at half price. I’ve seen a blog post where it recommends using the weather station, but I assume anything else would do. Buy a bunch and place them all in an open area, then go back and sell them.
Also, for the newer folks starting out, tap Homer eleventy times if you haven’t already. That will get you the Springfield statue.
For the Homer donuts (and Jebediah Springfield statue)
IIRC, you have to have Homer in the Mypad task, then you click him ten times
so THATS where those bubbles came from (do bath salts even make bubbles? - Meh, it sounded funny in my head…)
For the “decorations for levelling up” folks…
Do NOT use the parade balloons to do this!
I bought a Blinky Balloon for the Three-Eyed Sushi kiosk on my Squidport, and noticed that I got a crap-ton of XP for it, and quickly bought 8 more intending to sell them off.
I found out the hard way that you CAN’T sell them back !
Blerg.
If you read my post from a week or so ago, you would have known this… I unfortunately bought a second Blinky Balloon after hitting the check mark instead of the “x” to close that little bar that pops up when you are buying things. :smack:
When I tried to sell the balloon back, no dice. :smack::smack:
I thought I was the only one with two Blinky Balloons, but I think you have the new record!
I’m just trying to put a positive spin on it. i know how bad it sucks to spend money by mistake and not be able to get it back. And you spent a lot more than I did. The good news is, you had the money to spend, and you probably will generate money quick enough to offset this one mistake.
Did you at least get the XP’s you were after?
I just did, thanks for this link. There is also a large message board with folks stating their issues, and only.two others have posted my issue. No resolutions.
I confess that i’m nervous about doing this. If I try this, I do have a fear of losing everything.
Donuts are the game’s gold. Unless you are willing to buy them with real money, hang onto them.
I have to confess, I am starting to wonder what i’m hanging onto my donuts FOR? Is there some prize I should be aiming for? I don’t know.
What I DO know is that I’ve never found a donut anywhere… And i’ve only got them by leveling up.
I pretty much ignore donuts, now. I’ve lost several to mistaps that have used them before I could cancel. (Man, that donut eating progress bar is fast!) If you can’t buy the thingie with money or holiday goo/presents/whatever, my Springfield is just going to do without.
There is a confirm donut spend in the game’s options. Check that and it will prompt you if you really, really want to use the donuts.
I received 5 doughnuts from popping a balloon in Krustyland this week. I had no idea that they were even a possible prize.
ahhh… Thanks for that!
My understanding is that you get 5 donuts for every 100 visits.
You can also get donuts from the customers at Krustyland…very rare though.
So what exactly is the story with the floating Squidport tiles? I’m not to the point of building it yet, but I always click on them when I visit other towns - they give a ton of XP.
And labtrash, your Squidport is impressive.
Hmm. Never heard this. I’m sure I have close to if not more than 100 visits to K-land. I guess there is no way to know, so if I get donuts, I’ll let you all know.
The floating tile is to let you know that a tile is ready to be put into your squidoort to expand it. However, you need space available, so if you have no water to build on, you can put tiles in your inventory.
As for the floating tile on other Springfields… If you hit it, you get a ton of XP’s as you pointed out. But the other person benefits also. If that person leaves a tile floating on the scream, then when another person selects it, another tile is added to his available tiles, which will appear as a handshake where the tile used to be. If on your screen you have a handshake and let the handshake stay, other people will see a floating tile instead of the handshake and select it. You as the person who has the Springfield with the floating handshake above your Squidport will then see another handshake on top of the first handshake, indicating there are now two tiles there. As long as you leave one handshake up, you will continue to collect tiles as others click on your floating tile. This is much easier and quicker than buying one tile at a time and having to wait hours for the tile to appear.
That’s why folks that have a floating tile usually want people to tap on it once while they visit. It helps out a lot
I hit every floating tile I see unless someone specifically asks me not to. I hope folks are doing this for me, as i want to gain tiles to build out my squidport.
I will make sure to tap your tile if it is available, and please do the same for me. I should always have a tile floating, so feel free to select it while you visit! ![]()
I went through my other Springfields today and hit 11 floating tiles, so some folks aren’t returning the favor… C’mon, folks! ![]()
If this doesn’t make much sense, there are other folks that have explained this better than I have both in this thread and on-line.
The bottom line is it is a quick way to earn XP’s for the visitor who selects the tile, and it helps the person who HAS the floating tile build out their Squidoort more quickly.
If you find where I’ve joined this thread, which is probably 4-5 pages back now, I have asked a lot of these questions and folks have been kind enough to answer them. You will find.in some of the posts links to external websites which explain a ton about just about any thing you have a question on. The people in this thread have been a great help and have given me some great information, which has probably kept me from quitting this game a while ago.
