The Simpsons: Tapped Out

If youre looking for a multiplier, the best bang for the buck in the game is the snowball II snowman. 20 donuts for 2%. I bought one.

If you’re looking for premium items other than that, I can’t help you.

Off the top of my head, if you haven’t bought any premium items yet, Squeaky Voiced Teen is the best thing you can buy. He’s another character walking around, but he makes a lot of money too. Beyond that, just keep your eyes open for things that are over 2% for under, say, 60 donuts or so. They come along from time to time, usually in the form of a car. Right now, I think the Snowball cat is dirt cheap is brings in 2%, you might look at that. Over time a 2% here and a 2.25% there add up and suddenly you’re at 50+%.

I prefer saving up for characters since they’re more fun and don’t require land. I’m very happy with Squeaky Voiced Teen, Moleman, and Kearney. I’m saving up for Arnie Pye or Rich Texan next.

I tried using the “move the spin wheel” trick but I couldn’t give it just a small spin. I ended up landing right in between the decorated Flanders house and the Abominable Snowman. The arrow pointed at the snowman but I got Flander’s house. Boo.

I’m trying to max my earnings (money) right now, as a level 11. Since IRL, I’m unemployed, I have time. I have a small farm (maybe 20) of brown houses. They pay off every 5 minutes. I’m just starting a blue house farm. Meanwhile, I have about 70 friends, just by going to the game’s Facebook page and adding people who ask to be added.

I can, when I’m home, attend to the game 100% of the time, so the Brown houses pay off quite well.

Any low-level money-making tips?

Tip 1: Grow moonshine on Cletus’s Farm and put it near your metal Christmas tree (so people will see it when they visit you). When it finishes growing, do not collect the moonshine. Instead wait until at least two people have visited your town and tapped your moonshine (you want to see at least two handshakes above Cletus’s Farm before collecting). Do not collect your last handshake.

Tip 2: Folks in this thread are more likely to know to help you than random folks.

Tip 3: Once you unlock it, you can do the same thing with the Channel Ocho or Arnie Pye’s task for Channel 6–I’ve switched Cletus’s Farm to corn in the meantime and am now just waiting for the big bucks to start rolling in.

Hot damn! Just opened my 5th-day bonus Mystery Box, and got a Lemon Tree! It seems to be highly prized, but what does it do for me?

Ha, I have 28 minutes until my moonshine is ready, I’ve been planning this. If nobody taps it at all, how long does it take to wither and die? Or does it? I mean, moonshine is immortal.

I strongly endorse the suggestion that you leave more than one handshake floating. Several times I’ve inadvertently tapped it (or near enough to it that the game took it as such) and would have had to start over otherwise. In fact, right now I have only one handshake on my farm. Can someone tap Cletus’ farm for me?

I also put my Christmas tree, Cletus’ farm and the studio all together near the squid port entrance. It DRAMATICALLY increased the rate at which these get tapped for me. Thanks all!

What’s your account name?

Off topic, but I just noticed on IMDB that The Simpsons first premiered today, Dec 17th, in 1989.

I feel very old now.

It dies after 24 hours.

I hope the Christmas tree stays as the “entrance point” after the Christmas update is over. I always go to Squidport first, but I’m not going to hunt down the studio or the farm everytime I visit a friend.

Right now I have my tv station, farm, and Squidport all near the tree but I’m noticing something interesting. People will click my Squidport but not anything else.
Understandable. Squidport still gives you a ton of experience for clicking, but the other two are, for the clicker, wasted opportunities to get a gift card.
So right now I have a string of 26 handshakes on my tiles, but the other two get left alone.
It’ll change after the Christmas time, though. But right now that strategy of waiting for handshakes probably won’t work too well.

If I see a floaty Squidport tile, I’ll click it - but the other 2 clicks are for gift cards (sorry farmers & broadcasters - it’s all about the gift cards right now:D).

I’ll also admit that I do NOT scroll around looking for the Squidport tile (so I agree that it’s much better to put all of that stuff near the tree / drop zone). If I’m scrolling around at all it’s looking for gift cards to click.

Does it die no matter what, whether it gets clicked on or not?

It’s swat_yukon795, but almost immediately after I wrote that post, I had a second handshake on the farm, so never mind! Crisis averted!

This is a heinously addictive game. I’ve been obsessed with Diablo II, Civilization III, and World of Warcraft, and I can say without fear of hyperbole that this is a million times worse then all three put together.

Is it better to let your presents accumulate over the course of a day, and have the 24-hour-Elves open them for you? Or to open them as they come?

My understanding is that if a friend clicks on a dead crop, it is revived and the “death timer” resets.

Thanks. So as long as one friend per day clicks on it to keep it at two stacked handshakes, it can produce perpetually, it seems. Woo Hoo!
