I came to this realzation last night/this morning when it crashed twice while I was visiting my neighbors.
The crashing was caused by a massive update that. I only received after deleting/reinstalling.
The other fun thing about is update is that I actually lost some money that. I thought i had accumulated before the update. I guess it crashed before it recorded the money, so that sucked. But. I didn’t lose much.
It’s a shame, but not visiting friends really seems like the most prudent thing to do right now. I have been in the habit of visiting everyone since the Christmas update, but now, like ypu said, it seems pointless.
I will still try and visit everyone who visits me and hits my channel 6, cletus’ crops, and the boardwalk tiles…
I just got the courthouse this morning before I had to dash out the door and I had all my other characters on tasks, so it didn’t prompt the judge to his quest. I’m not sure what the point of having it be a two day build. you would think that one day would be long enough.
Finally rebuilt my entire town. Took me hours yesterday so I don’t think I’ll be doing that again until I buy all the available land. It’s really annoying that water, roads, and pavement are all locked to the same grid. It would be a hell of a lot easier to plan stuff out if they were freeform like everything else. Also, I wish fences didn’t take up a square, since it leaves annoying gaps everywhere. Clearly, they can code around it since you can have the fence’s squares overlap in a corner. At least make it so you can have the fence overlap with the road.
Yeah well I want both. I want buildings that don’t take too long to build and new storylines, but not too many storylines. Also, I want more older women in Modern Bride magazine.
Oh man, that sucks. If you’re not maxed out on tiles, at least you can make more when you give in to the life-ruining “fun.”
I read something kind of helpful on the EA forums. Since the manage friends option is gone for iOS players now, supposedly if you install Scrabble, you can manage your friends from that game instead of having to d/l the origin for desktop app.
I was super annoyed yesterday. I have never been close to five stars, so I never tried for it. I did try to maximize the easier categories (tree hugging, decorations), but I knew it was a huge pain for consumerism, gluttony. Suddenly with the new update, I found myself at 4.5 stars, being 5 stars in all but consumerism. I figured I’d add a couple KEMs to boost 4.5 stars to five. I mean, if I was at 4.5, it shouldn’t take more than a couple, right?
WRONG.
After they built, it was still 4.5. I added another. 4.5. I added another. 4.5. I knew that it took a bunch of KEMs to boost you to five, but my annoyance is that I wasn’t at 3.5 stars or 4, but 4.5. You’d think being .5 away would indicate I was close, not 5-6 KEMs away.
I finally got enough KEMs built (and hidden as best I could) for 5 stars and checked my bonus on the GNB. I didn’t even raise it to the next point. Super frustrating. I get the same multiplier at 5 stars as I did at 4.5. I know the next time I get my mystery box full of white fences or whatever it’ll tip me over that tiny bit, but I hate having all those KEMs for no reason other than to be able to say “I’m at 5 stars.”
I am glad for those little umbrella cars for gluttony. Those are easy to hide.
Put it by where people would enter your town, and you are almost guaranteed to get it picked several times a day. If I’m searching in someone’s town, I almost never go north (since ~south is where the Squidport entrance is guaranteed to be).
That’s because the Gulp N’ Blow only makes $100. You went from making $104.5 (rounded up) to $105. Something making $200 went from $209 to $210. Something making $1000 went from $1045 to $1050. If you’re pulling in say, $40,000 a day, that’s an extra $200.
I will be hapoy to hit your corn, but if i can’t find it. i might miss it.
I enter a town and try to get to squidport to hit people’s tiles. If someone puts a farm or tv station or whatever somewhere other than where people enter the town or near the squidport, i may miss it. And when I am going through towns with that arrow feature, i often don’t know whose town I’m in.
So, Loach, feel free to come in here and remind us again when the corn is ready. I’d hate to forget, you’ve waited a long time, you should get the pay-day.
SFP.
oh, and for those of us that don’t have the benefit of Marge moving the time of the corn up, planting it doesn’t seem practical. But I really want to plant corn… Where did that Marge come from? Was it a halloween add-on?
Yes. Its Marge as a witch. She stands next to the field and casts a spell. It knocks 4 hours off the clock and the job takes 4 hours. I tried to get her on it twice a day.
I just spelled the word “Port” with hedges (at least I tried to) at my town’s entry point as a not-subtle reminder to please click on my Squidport tiles.
I took a little vacation from visiting other towns after Christmas but I am getting back to it. Now I just have to dump all my non-Dopers and redo my friends list.
