3 of you had corn.
I’ve moved my farm to my spawn point after discovering that they eliminated the fat XP bonus you used to get for tapping Squidport tiles in other towns.
I have corn and have placed my farm next to channel 6, so you should be able to find it easily.
If anyone can’t find my corn when you enter my town let me know and I’ll move it.
Otherwise, tap away! I’ll be reciprocating of course.
I should be happy that my corn took 3 weeks instead of 3 months, but I was really looking forward to stacked corn in April. 
The stackables might not be working any more. The official forums are back up and a lot of people are reporting they can’t multi-tap things, and SP tiles might not be giving out outrageous XP even if they’re available. That could have to do with the update because once your roses are ready, the whole card thing (I think it’s cards?) involves tapping characters instead of buildings, so no buildings are tappable once you’re doing the real event. So we’ll see how things stack up (heh heh) when the event is over, if things go back to how they were pre-Halloween or if things are stackable again.
I was saving my donuts for the Open Air Stage, but if it can’t be stacked, I have to rethink things.

Don’t know if what I’m seeing is common, but I figure I’d let you all know and see if you have a similar experience and/or suggestions.
- corn - my corn was instantly ready like everyone elses, and the icon is floating above my farm. When a freiend goes into my town, they can hit the corn icon like one would expect. However, when I look at my town after their visit, the tap on the corn isn’t registered. There is no handshake; the only thing that appears is the corn icon again, and it looks exactly the same as before the visit.
2). My channel 6 icon is also acting strangely. When i go into my town, there is a handshake on the TV station, which would indicate someone has visited. However when the friend enters my town, he sees no floating icon over my TV station any longer. It is blank, looking like the task that creats the icon is either running and not yet completed or hasn’t been started yet.
When I go back into my town after my friend’s visit, sure enough, my tv station has one handshake like before, and my corn has the corn icon only. No handshake. No stacking.
So, it would seem that EA has either removed the stacking function, or has temporarily disabled it for the valentines day tasks.
I think what they have done is given everyone a free corn crop (or whatever other crop you might have been growing) to harvest, because the first task requires the farm.
So, at least on mine, i cannot stack up handshakes on my corn and make a bunch of money. Not sure if this is how it is going to be from now on, or if this is just temporary for valentines day.
For some strange reason, i also cannot stack handshakes on the channel 6 station either.

Anyone else have a similar story, or has anyone else been able to harvest multiple handshakes from their crops?
I did a quick search, and I haven’t found anything to confirm what i’ve noticed as the official new version anywhere on the web.
I think it is possible that the new update has fixed the feature that permitted stacking of handshakes. I hope not, but if so, that really bites.
I also noticed that when i tapped on someones Squidport tile, i only received 2 XP. That was smaller that any XP I had ever received for a squidport tile.
If these new features are the new game, these changes will really bum me out. I guess i’ll wait to see what you all have discoverd on your neighborhood set and if it is similar to my findings, i will assume that’s that and move on.
One more thing. I had 24 friend requests waiting for me to act, and as soon as i could figure out how to deleate some of my inactive friends, i was going to put as many dopers as I could in my friend list. But that pending friend list is now empty.

On the plus side, they put Origin friend management back into the game. Hooray?
Obviously with the possible changes to handshake stacking, it may be better to buy Brandine, with her ability to generate more Spucklers.
Since getting the update I’m crashing a lot, at least on my tablet (Nexus 10). Just now, doing nothing more then resetting all the characters it crashed 6 times. I haven’t used my phone since this update so I’ll try that next time and see how that does, but it was crashing a lot before the VD update, I’m guessing it’s worse now.
And they still haven’t fixed the lagging on the tablet.
Well I was excited this morning to get the update and my corn and to tell y’all to start tapping it… but it sounds like maybe the tapping thing won’t work. Still, I got corn in less than a day so I can’t really complain. I guess I’ll just harvest it tonight whether I have any handshakes or not on it and then get started on the roses.
Ugh, I was only a couple weeks away from corn anyway, so I’m pretty disappointed if I can’t get any extra taps on it. On the other I did just get Hans Moleman inside my Mystery Box, so I guess I can’t complain.

Apparently the illiteracy of the little Spucklers makes them unable to have jobs. It looks like they really cracked down on the ability to generate XP/free donuts in this update.
Days later and I still can’t login. I actually deleted the app, reinstalled, and even applied the update. No dice. It just hangs at the startup screen admonishing me, “You need more space!”
My best (conspiracy-like) guess is that some developer saw me complaining that “Free <> low quality” and gave me something to really complain about.
Although I’ve sunk countless hours into this game, I haven’t sunk any money into it. Otherwise, I’d be really pissed.
If all these fixes stick, they’ve really eliminated any reason to visit other towns when there isn’t an event.
I’ll add my $.02. I bought 3 rocket cars, 30 donuts each. It’s the best bang for the buck for percentage increase for money and xp. 2% increase for each 30 donuts. Not bad, and i don’t have to worry about being hurt with the stacking/no stacking changes to the software.
If you are set on a character, you may want to wait until after V-Day is over and see if the stacking returns before making a final call. I would wait if I were you. A couple of weeks is nothing compared to the time it would take to earn 85 donuts without buying them.
Congrats on the Hans Moleman! That’s a pretty good mystery box. My last one contained the ever popular green hedge. Whoopie. It does suck that you were so close to getting taps on your corn, but you at least get one early. And a Hans Moleman. I’d probably be happy about that.
It has been hard to stay on for me as well. Usually, i get in and it will either hang or crash. I had to reboot my iPad 3 times yesterday. Not exactly good.
Agreed. I have also heard somewhere that the V-day update has another wheel. If thats the case, i may just skip this one. I can’t see going through the pain of another wheel again.
I guess i"ll wait to see what prizes are on the wheel.

Apparently though, once you get all the prizes from the wheel, you also get the Tunnel of Love for Krustyland.
Also, the diminishing returns on valentines in other towns is a little painful.

There are lots of people having trouble, if it makes you feel better. It was down for everyone for a bit today, but there are plenty who can’t get in even when it’s working for most people.
Without tiles to tap, you can get about 3000xp by visiting 100 friends per day. So it’s nothing to sneeze at, but also a lot of work for little return. It’s not enough to motivate many people to do it. I’m not sure if I’m one of those people yet. We’ll see in a few weeks what happens.
As all the usernames are alphabetical and my name (xamovo) is the 24th letter, this sucks for me and other end-of-the-alphabet people. How many people are going to go all the way through their whole friends list? Or remember to go left instead of right when leaving Other Springfield? I’m sure SOME people will, but those of you with A, B, and C are going to get many more visitors than us X, Y, and Zs.
The only real disappointment I have is that we didn’t get a landing zone features like at Christmas. I don’t want to have to move stuff around in my town, or play “if I buy land here maybe I can move it there”.
I bought a bunch of Valentine’s trees and made a small copse of them. I figure in the future when I’m developing now-unpurchased land, I’ll be happy with an extra tree to decorate with.
I’m torn with Brandine. I kind of want to buy her, but then she disappears for 3 months, so it’s buying a character I wouldn’t be able to use until May. Plus do I need a bunch of Spucklers wandering around, generating no income, hanging out with the yeti, zombie, and turkey?
