The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I got 5 donuts from Sideshow You today. Woo hoo! I also have one of the more recent episodes playing in a smaller window and it’s paused on Sideshow Bob and I keep wanting to reach over and tap him.

I was wondering how many donuts you all get on average per week/month/whatever? I spent every last donut on Brandine about 41 days ago, and I’m back up to 40 donuts. The FP donuts are certainly helping.

I have one. He’s the size of the little ones that were in your town and just hops once when you click on him.

Wow, I haven’t seen 5 donuts payout from that yet and I play it twice a day. I have gotten a donut here and there tapping at other Springfields and I read on one of the Tapped Out blogs that EA is paying out donuts more than they have before, which is just about as nice as resting a cold Duff on my belly while relaxing in my hammock.

I have about 80 donuts right now and I’m wary of using them. I’ve bought them a few times before but I don’t want to spend real money anymore. I also know that there’s going to be something around the corner coming up. Another Whacking Day, perhaps. It’s an interesting phenomenon – not spending on something so you can have it for the future for something you’re not going to spend it on.

I have heard you can get donuts from this game, and I think someone even said you can get some evry 100 times you play the game, but i haven’t seen one donut and i know I’ve played the game over 100 times.

Perhaps it’s a random thing, where only some folks get the donuts after 100 plays. I play it 2x a day also, and i’ve had it since Christmas.

Just found out that the elephant’s name is Stampy. D’oh! I had been calling it Stimpy since I first saw it. Don’t know where I got that from.

Oh, that’s a shame. Some people get them there (I think this was my third time, and I also check twice a day), some people don’t. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got a little less stingy with donuts because the cost of things has increased so much. Plus the big thing is The Family Guy game due out this time next month. That’s going to siphon off a lot of players. It’s in beta now and people seem to like it. There isn’t an entire crossover of fans between the shows, but there’s enough. If EA continues to show bad service AND rising costs, a game done by a competitor for a similar-enough show looks awfully tempting.

Like right now, we should have gotten an update 2 days ago. If nothing else, just to take away the green water. There have been 3 level updates in something like the last 6 months. Lots of episode tie-ins and a few holidays, but that kind of sucks. In this time of boredom, if TFG game was up, I’d probably be on it more because at least I’d have stuff to do.

Oh and as far as the “you get donuts in KL every x amount of visits,” I read a good explanation. You’re not guaranteed them every 200 visits. It’s a 1 in 200 chance. It got misinterpreted and spread as “200 visits”. In 200 visits you SHOULD have gotten at least one, but someone’s got to be on the crappy end of the bell curve.

Thanks for this explanation. That makes much more sense.

I am definitely one on the shitty end of the bell curve. But that’s ok. That’s the way things go sometimes.

I am looking forward to the family guy app in a big way. If it permits me to play without the constant crashing, I can see my time on this one waning.

I won $200,000 at the track for the 7th or 8th time the other day.

Rub it in, why don’t you?

I have never won that race. I stopped playing the race track. It was much better for my blood pressure.

You know, come to think of it, I have had a strange game for a long time. I mean, that stupid christmas wheel almost drove me insane. And I ended up with so many snowmen, and hardly anyone else had the repopulating wheel like i did. So, even though I had to wait until the very last day to clear the stupid thing, I made out very well with the multipliers. I have never won the big race at the track, but once you stop playing the track, you really don’t get so angry about it. I play the track about once every week or two, so I really don’t expect to.win.

It’s amazing how my stress and anger level went down when I stopped expecting or hoping to win.

I’ve even stopped getting worked up over the quick-e-mart scratch-off ticket. And i have actually won the big prize 2-3 times. So, i don’t get pissed when I see that stupid bomb in the first space. Thats either going to be a $350 or $500 win, and whoopee.

I got lucky by building my boardwalk when tile tapping was working (has that come back yet?), so some things I’ve been able to benefit from. I wouldn’t trade the port tiles for a few wins at the track. Sure I’d like both, but if given a choice, I would have taken the tiles.

By the way, have any of the glitches, like multiple tapping on the tv station come back?

Oh, and I have never been able to get the monster glitch to work, either so I stopped trying, Ah, dropping your expectations makes a happy tapper

Woohoo! Level 39!

Does anyone else have this? I’d maxed out on my friendship pts and was visiting neighbors to get the $95 and the occasional donut. This morning when I visit my neighboreenos, it still says I’m maxed out on FP, but it’s giving me FP and the lower cash amount when I tap.

It says I am maxed out too on the friends part but in my town I am getting friend points when I get spray painted. Also E.A.R.L is going down in the number of donuts, I am guessing a glitch that will be fixed.

Can I ask why this matters?

Is it just that the game has been updated, and you might see some new tasks, get a new building or two, or whatever?

Because I don’t get the excitement. They can and have given new buildings and characters without upping the level.

And in a few days, you will be whipping through the XP’s, and you will be waiting for a new level.

Is there something else that comes from an extra level that i’m not seeing?

Why a new level is better in a lot of ways than just an event or episode tie-in is that when you hit the max level (which is now 39) of xp, you get 1-3 free donuts. Then your xp resets to a number 25% higher than that max level number. When you reach that new number, 1-3 donuts. Lather, rinse, repeat. For the first few days/weeks, you can get a ton of donuts really quickly. Before the update hit, I had to get nearly 2 million XP points to get to the 1-3 donuts, which takes a lot of time. New content and tasks/quests are awesome too, but that’s why a new level is different.

I am not a happy camper because my XP didn’t reset and I still have to get 2 million xp to get my donuts. It should have dropped way, way down. Had to do my first ticket to EA.

Also, the prices of previous things can go down. The grocery store went down in price, for example. There’s hope for new land (not this time). Bug fixes can happen as well.

The FP problem (the FP meter not showing correct FP corrected) was hotfixed about an hour ago.

The level looks fun. I like the new KL decorations. I’d rather Sanjay were premium and Manjula were free, but that’s minor.

It doesn’t, it’s just a game. Not that I know of. If you would have seen my “level” of enthusiasm in person instead of a message board when I said woohoo! you would have realized I wasn’t that excited.

I think everything, with the exception of the lower XP numbers and getting donuts at the end of the last level, is the only thing that hasn’t been done without a new level update. Everything else can be done with an update, regardless of whether or not a new level is added.

I’m not trying to be a jerk. I was just curious as to why it matters much if a new level is added. It IS nice to have a lower XP to shoot for, but i am going to assume that most people have already met the new XP number (or are close) and that will be that. The XP’s will start to climb and we will all be right back where we were a week ago.

FTR, I wasn’t being snarky. I was just asking a question. Sorry if my message came off badly, as I didn’t intend it to be insulting.

As you all probably know if you’ve read my posts, i have a list of friend requests that I had since I reached 100 friends, and they just sat in the queue. When we got the update that changed the friend management, the names disappeared, but I always had the number maintained.

Occassionally, the number would go up one or two and I noticed I was sitting on 27 friends. After this latest update, the number went down to 25. I thought that was odd, but whatever. But last night, as I was visiting my neeighbors, a new name popped up. I know it is new because it begins with the letter “Z” and I only had one of those. When I hit the “z” name, I knew i was done with my friends. But last night, a new name was inserted. So, somehow, at least one, and possibly two names were culled from my invisible list and added to my friends automatically.

If this is what happened, that’s great. I have no idea of how many friends I have, because I’ve deleted about 10-15 people over the last month or so… And I have noticed my invisible friends requests fluctuating from time to time, so maybe people have been added from the liast and I didn’t know it until last night.

I’ll count my friends and see if I am at 100 again. If this is the case, then EA may have added an auto add feature, which would be pretty cool. Something happened to add the new friend… That’s for sure. I don’t know who the person is, and I never saw the name until last night, so it must have come from my pending list.

Also, I hit the XP target for the new level, and got the donut bonus. After i got the donuts, a second donut bonus game popped up and I got 3 more donuts.

Something for you all to watch out for.

Does anyone know if there is a decoration that is one of those public viewfinders, that you stick a quarter in and get a minute of time to look at something far away?

I could have sworn I saw this type of thig, but now that I have some free time and want to dress up my boardwalk a bit, I can’t find the thing anywhere.

Thanks

Everything else CAN be done with an event or episode tie-in, but it WILL happen with a level update.

The new xp number might be met, but EVERY time you max out your xp, you get 1-3 donuts. I generate a ton of xp per day, so with a lower xp goal, I’d probably get 10 donuts in a few days. That is definitely something to go to. It’s only after 6-8 weeks of no new level that xp goals start to get too high for high-level daily players. It increases every time you get bonus donuts, but by 25%. So it’s not “that will be that” for anyone who DIDN’T have the glitch I had for quite some time.

I did find at least one other person who had the same problem as me and at the same level. Haven’t heard from EA. Not sure how long they take to respond or if this is something they’d even bother with.

Your point about donuts is fair enough. And that IS something that does count for quite a lot in this game, so i can see the desire for a new level coming more quickly.

Thing is, EA can always change the donut grab too, especially if it thinks folks are getting a lot of donuts, like it sounds like you are able to get right after a new level is added. I know they haven’t done that yet. Maybe they never will. But I can’t see EA wanting to put too many levels in too quickly or they would be giving away too many donuts too quickly.

I get a ton at first, but right now? It’s going to take ages to get the box. I think need a million xp and I already have 800k, so it only lasts for the first few level ups. That’s why we like new levels: it brings it down even if only for a short time.

I still haven’t heard from EA. I’m not annoyed, as maybe they take the weekend off, but I’m starting to worry that if they can fix my problem, they might take away all my progress I’ve made the last few days and will have to start level 39 over again. Not the end of the world, but I hope I’d at least get a few donuts to make up for the lost time.
