I’ll be a neighbor. As soon as I figure out how to create a user id. If we have to use our facebook id’s, then I will have to create a different account just for games, i don’t want to bug my real life friends with game crap. I hate when people send me that farmville shit.
Ditto for me. I just started playing and really haven’t gotten the hang of it yet. It just dawned on me (as I was reading this) that I haven’t ‘logged in’ yet. But if they only way to do it is via facebook, I’ll set up a new FB page for it, probably.
ETA, you can just set up a username without logging in via FB.
I’m having a ton of problems with Family Guy. I set up a log in (which was just an Email/password). And for some reason, after doing that (within the game), I went back to that screen and tried to log in. I don’t know why I did, but I did and was surprised that it was telling me I had ‘bad credentials’, which I took to mean my password was bad. But, whatever, I set it up within the game, so I should be fine, right.
Anyways, I’m playing the game, I put everyone on one and two hour tasks and a little later I get an alert that everyone is done. I click on the alter and it takes me to the beginning video, then to the chicken fight scene and finally to the blank Quahog and the tutorial. Everything is gone. It’s also not letting me log in. Even resetting my password isn’t working, which is telling me, something must have gone wonky and reset my account (which, no doubt was local to my phone) and my log in must have not been set up properly as well which is probably why resetting my password got me nowhere. I’ll go poke around on the familyguyaddicts.com, otherwise I’ll bite the bullet and just be happy I was less than 12 hours into the game.
Phew, got everything back. Passwords with uppercase letters don’t work. Makes perfect sense. That’s some top notch programming over there.
I am having trouble with just moving things.
I literally tried moving the Spooner Street sign for 5 minutes! Where it ended up is where it will stay unless I figure out a way to move things more easily.
I can understand there will be some growing pains, but item moving? That should be a no-brainer. For me, big things are easily moved, but the smaller stuff? Forget it.
We should probably start a new thread on Family Guy. I set up a new email account for google, and even after proving I wasn’t a robot, they still made me give them my cell phone number. These bastards just won’t let me have one way that they can’t get in touch with me, can they?
I really don’t have much of an idea of what I’m doing over their yet. I have a feeling we are going to be praising EA for the great software they have after a bit of playing with family guy, so far, I am not impressed.
There is one thing that i’m already pissed off with. They want you to clear a part of the town, but it requires you to hire a new worker for 50 “clams” (their donuts). But the only way I can see to get those clams so soon in the game is to purchase them. WTF? Right out of the shoot?
Unless you’ve gotten farther then me, I’ve cleared several sections without clams, just money and time.
Also, yes, moving things is a PITA.
Hell, just understanding the actual gameplay is a PITA.
It’s been in Beta for a while, but I don’t know how long or how big. I’m guessing over the coming weeks and months there’s going to be a lot of changes but it’s really confusing. I don’t know if the changes are going to be due to people that haven’t played Tapped Out being totally confused and giving up so they have to make it easier or if it’s going to be because the people that have played Tapped Out are going to be bored because it’s basically the same game and it feels like starting over, but somethings going to have to change.
But honestly. If I had never played Tapped Out and just happened to find this game today, I don’t think I would have given more then a few minutes, it’s pretty frustrating. The only reason I stuck with it is because I knew what to expect, it was just a matter of figuring out what buttons to push to get there.
For example, getting a new character (Quagmire, Jerome) and seeing all those random things above their head. Some explanation would have been nice. Especially like how to get Jerome a hamburger since that wasn’t a job you can put him on, you just had to wait an hour after building the burger place and he got one. And what does “common” mean?
I’m figuring some of these things out as I go, but a lot of people are just going to give up.
Do you guys mind spinning off the Family Guy stuff into a separate thread? I don’t plan on playing and I follow this thread pretty closely so those posts are in the way.
I think that is appropriate., USCDiver. I’ll start one if it doesn’t already exist.
Thanks, neighboreeno!
I got two Homer graves. Are we supposed to get more than one?
I think it’s ‘9 times’ task and you get a grave each time
You can get up to ten. But the dialogue screen claims it ends at “midnight on Saturday.” Assuming they stick with that, you only have time to get five or six more at this point (without using donuts to speed up).
And USC Diver, if you do follow this thread closely, you may consider checking out an actual Tapped Out site for real time info. This thread is pretty sparsely updated and most stuff doesn’t even get mentioned.
I didn’t realize we could get more than one. I’m not sure what the point of that is but OK.
An Easter splash screen has been found. If you have a kindle, you go to the app store and scroll through the app suggestions banner and you can see it. I don’t know if this means no Whacking Day, if Easter is going to be a big deal, or what. But something is coming this week.
What’s a Homer grave?
I have zero.
It was a mini quest line with Homer and Maude about his gluttonous habits. I only got prompted to do it late Friday, so I was never going to get more than one grave before the midnight Saturday deadline. It has me completing the other fridge raids though. I really don’t want to do nine of them at seven hours each for nothing.
On the other hand, I got five donuts from Sideshow You this morning. Second time.
I have 7, then Maude popped back up and said something about something, then Homer went back to raiding another fridge. I’m not sure if I’ll get another one after that only because one of the walkthroughs mentioned that you can 7 of them. We’ll find out what this nets me in a few hours.
Ditto on the fridge raiding, and I also wanted to brag that I got thirty donuts as my weekly “Mystery Box”.
A far step up from my usual $250 !
30 donuts? That is the best surprise i’ve ever heard of. I always seem to get a hedge, or some fence, or a newspaper dispenser. I don’t even bother to take them out of inventory.
I am very far behind on some of the quests. I wanted to grow corn, so I decided no matter what comes, I will finish the corn crop. So I still haven’t done the tomacco task, which was probably two months ago.
I was hoping the multiple tap glitch would be given back to us so I could profit from the corn, but that hasn’t happened as far as I know. So, once this corn is ready to harvest, I will be harvesting it, never to grow it again. For the length of time it requires, it is simply not worth locking up Cletus’ farm for 3 months.
And since the multiple tapping is not working, it really isn’t worth the time when you consider what else could be growing and collected instead during the same time period.
The one good thing about it is that I don’t have to worry about keeping a crop growing on it, but that’s small potatoes. I tap on everything at least once a day, so maintaining a crop on the farm wouldn’t be a big deal at all.
I hope EA never puts a corn crop as a task. I would hate to grow this stuff ever again. It would be nice to be surprised when it is ready to have the multi-tap bonus work on the corn, but I am not holding my breath.
I’m just the opposite. One less thing to click on and worry about. I wish the TV station had a 90 day task, as I often collect then fail to remember to restart something. Long tasks mean less clicking, and that’s a good thing.
