The new update is all kinds of fucked up. FP collection isn’t working. Some people claim EA told them it is working, but it’s just not visible, but I don’t know… All I know is that it takes so long due to lag to visit my friends that now it’s so late at night to even start that I can’t until tomorrow.
Mine has been stupidly slow since this last update as well and I also get knocked out of the game at some of my friend’s towns. I did reinstall but that didn’t help so I hope the caring, thoughtful guys at EA are diligent at fixing the issue.
My town is amazingly slow, and visiting my neighboreenos has become virtually impossible.
I don’t know why, but every time I go to Ethan’s town, it lets me hit 3 things, but then crashes. When. I go back in, it shows that nothing has been recorded in Ethan’s town. When i skip it and go to Folly’s town, I never see the town. It just crashes.
So it seems to die when ever I go to Folly’s town, either by trying to entering directly, or through Ethan’s town. I have no idea if anyone else has this issue, but i can’t do anything to fix this.
I took about a week off after Easter, just visiting my town once a day, but not visiting neighbors or Krustyland. But now, when I try to visit neighbors I am rebuffed with extreme prejudice.
Also, the app is incredibly slow now. It crashes occasionally on my town screen, and just tapping in my town hangs everything and takes forever.
I noticed others have similar complaints. Has anyone seen any improvement since you all posted the comments about the new release?
At this rate, I will never get the 5000 FP’s. I hate these stupid updates. There is no way this was QA’ed by EA.
Mine used to crash constantly, now it crashes less (while in my own town), but slows down if I’ve tapped too many things. I think they’ve traded off crashing for slowing the game down while doing some processing.
It does still crash after visiting a few towns. In theory, I should have been able to hit 5000 FP in 10 days (8 if I put a lot of effort into it, 12 if I don’t). I’m at 1000 points and it’s been, what like a week. If it crashes after 3 towns, sometimes I just don’t care to fire it back up.
Yes, I seem to be crashing everyone else’s towns. I still can’t get into my own. My support request to EA just got a form email back in poorly written english stating that ‘crashing is a known issue’ and that they are working on it.
I have no idea if my particular ‘toxic town’ is really a known issue or if they just mean that crashing in general is a known issue.
This may be the end of my simpsons tapped out adventure as there is no way that I’m starting over.
Again, apologies to everyone who is crashing because of my town.
No need to apologize to us… I only put your name in my note in case other people. Had noticed the same thing. I guess they had. But this clearly isn’t your fault, at least. I don’t see how it could be.
I didn’t realize you had a problem with your town, but I haven’t read the thread in a while so I didn’t realize it was you and just you.
What is happening when you fire things up? Can you even get into your town?
Like JoeyPP, when things crash on me, I rarely fire things up again.
I am starting to get the feeling that EA is trying to kill this program. They may have decided that the money they are making on it does not justify the cost of maintaining the software any longer.
My own town is kind of laggy since the update, but playable. However when I try to visit neighbors it always crashes on the third or fourth town I visit.
A lot of characters have skins: Homer, Lisa, Mr. Burns, Ned, Grampa, Apu… I don’t think it has anything to do with Family Guy. Milhouse is not voiced because Pamela Hayden (IIRC) is not one of the Big Six, the six main cast members that they pay for the game. It’s also why Todd is voiced (Nancy Cartwright is one of the Big Six) but not Rod (also played by Pamela Hayden).
Ah, OK. Milhouse is my first one; those others may have preceded my joining the game. The way the different costumes display with different task lists looks quite a bit like it does in the Family Guy game, so the timing of the addition for Milhouse made me think of it.
Thanks for the information about the voices! That all makes sense.
Just remember, the Family Guy game is essentially a rip off of the Simpsons game except meaner. It’s kind of like the Family Guy show which is essentially a rip off of the Simpsons except meaner.
I got the update last night and it seemed to help a little. I didn’t get much chance to play the game after the update but it seems to go back and forth between moving at a decent speed and locking up. The outer edges of my town appear to be a lot better than the inner areas. Just like a real city, I guess.
