That doesn’t work - you get a dialog to upgrade, but when you click on “OK”, you get the splash screen but no upgrade. Even restarting the game doesn’t do it. This happened when the upgrade to Clash of Clones started as well; you pretty much just have to wait until it’s ready.
I had to go to the play store to install the update manually.
Question
Does the game limit the number of probes you can collect from friends?
I’m up to the “j’s” now and it’s not giving out any more probes, just cash, when I squish the little facehuggers.
Anyone else having this happen?
I think it maxes at 250 or something but I’m not sure.
What’s the deal with the broken fence, Easter egg, and other stuff collected at the bottom?
OK, this helps 'splain it.
I just tried this and was able tp update as well.
Kearney’s trick or treat costume rules.
I’m really confused, but I’m loving it.
I bought the drive-in and it’s hilarious. It does annoy me that its longest task is 3 hours so it can’t operate while I’m sleeping (an I&S marathon would be great!), but I love it anyway. I got the tentacle tree too. I got a ton of free donuts and have been saving them for this event so it was fun to buy stuff at the beginning instead of saving up. It doesn’t look like Witch Marge is coming, but it’s still too early to say for sure. She’s not in any of the spoiler posts I’ve seen, but it’s another long event.
Also, there are lots of ways to get donuts. From tapping UFOs in friends’ towns, to squishing your aliens, finding them in bags, and more. I haven’t gotten any yet, but having a chance to win donuts will keep my interest in the event after I’ve completed it. Or if I’m having trouble completing it, if I win donuts, I might spend them on things to help me complete.
I hope it really rules, cuz I just spent 60 of my very-hard-earned 84 donuts on him based on this post. I have been itching to spend some donuts and he is the only thing I’ve heard something good about for under 100 donuts so…I did it.
THANKS IN ADVANCE. I hope.
Oddly enough, someone on reddit posted screengrabs that show all their costumes, including this one, ate from the show.
I think every event before now has ended with a big countdown, hasn’t it? Weird that this seems to have had the rug pulled out from under.
This update feels more like how the Family Guy ones are in terms of design. I hope that it’s better implemented, though, because the ones in Family Guy can be a real pain in the ass and, quite frankly, have too much content that takes too long to unlock without spending money.
Hmmm, can someone give me a rundown on how the halloween event works?
I built a little alien shop or something but it doesn’t seem to do anything. Bart, Milhouse, and someone else are on a quest for a 12 hour sleepover. There’s an Alien named Kang in my town that can do tasks, do these beacon tasks do anything, or are they just random cash/xp generators? I’ve been squishing these tiny little monsters in my town occasionally, apparently sent by friends. I get probes for doing this, but don’t know what to do with them. I don’t seem to be able to collect anything or do anything in friend towns.
What’s the lowdown?
Your problem is probably that you don’t have the right characters available to start up the quest and explain everything.
I assume everyone is to the part of the quest where you send the kids trick-or-treating. Don’t be alarmed when the task doesn’t disappear from your task bar. You’re supposed to keep sending the kids out until the second phase of the event, next week.
Also, you don’t have to hunt down your kids when they’ve finished trick-or-treating. Simply click on the Candy Bag icon on the task bar. If any kids are done with their task, the status bar will say “Completed!” and you can click on it to be taken to wherever the kid is. Collect the bag, and re-assign them to trick-or-treat immediately so you don’t lose track of them. Then click on the task bar and repeat the process. As soon as you’ve collected all the kids that have finished the task, the status bar will have a countdown instead of the completed message. This saves having to look all over town for the trick-or-treaters and wondering whether they’re done yet.
Is Lisa finished trick-or-treating for the first time? Gotta wait for that, then she has a storyline and then the crazy shit starts.
Anyone know if it pays off to send the gremlins into the Other Springfield?
This one seems like a pretty standard Simpsons event, though I have yet to gauge if it is easy enough to get everything if you play every day. Any event should allow a heavy user(one who plays every day and visits all neighbors, etc.) to get all the items.
I actually miss community prizes, like the King Kong Tower we played for last year. I liked the way we all worked to get those.
I don’t mind the spreading out of prizes, though I do think the prizes are a bit weak this year.
I think I heard you have to earn 600+ probes/current currency to get the prizes, which seems a bit extreme. Is that right? If so, it will be a close call for me, especially since some neighbors aren’t yet at the collecting point.
Yeah, you need roughly 600 a day for the first two phases. However, the phase 3 prize (Unidentified Burns-like Object) is quite a bit more, nearly 1,000/day of whatever the last phase currency is. Maybe they’ll give us something that will make that easier to get, I hope.
Currently, I’m playing way too much and it’ll still be a close call to see if I can get Hugo without donuts. I’m seriously lagging behind on collecting Candy Corns for some reason. (Having 9 different currencies is such a headache.)
You get a prize if then run around for four(?) hours unclicked. You split the prize with the friend if they click it.
