Yeah, the reason I asked was that this morning after collecting bags and squishing aliens I got enough DNA to get a gold bag and I was kind of hoping I could not update until I got UBO, but if UBO is off the table then I’m just going to go ahead and update.
Even though I finished the event a few days ago, I kept playing until this morning. For my perseverance, I got a HTS, a bush, two donuts, and crafted walls and a 3rd spooky house.
I only gave up this morning because I read about the glitch with the hut, SH, and pumpkin house and I collected several thousand dollars (and mucho XP) before it was fixed.
Thanksgiving info is leaking out. So far it’s just stuff we’ve already had, so I hope there’s something new, although some 2012 stuff I don’t have (waterfall, e.g.).
While we’re waiting for the next gimmick, here’s a question:
I just reached 200 donuts. Is there any particular object that I should be buying as soon as I can? (For example, the Springfield sign (with its 4% cash and XP bonus), or Bumblebee Man (which opens up the 24-hour task at Channel 6)?)
I have Kang, and I don’t see Kodos in the list of characters I can buy (I thought you had to shoot her (apparently, according to “Simpsorama,” both Kang and Kodos are female now) down during the recent Halloween promotion).
Kang and Kodos are, of course, only available during Halloween. Bumblebee Man rules but only has two outdoor tasks, 30 minutes and 60 minutes. He also unlocks the 24-hour task at Channel 6 that pays out premium. Dios no me ama!
I think the French Waiter is new and a pretty good deal at 50 donuts. The Springfield Sign is just too big for me (and too expensive), but then I generally favor characters over decorations.
ETA: I don’t think there’s anyone you HAVE to have, except maybe Squeaky Voiced Teen. Otherwise, maybe save your donuts for Christmas. That’s what I’m doing.
What about Barney and the Bowl-a-rama? He’s high on my list, if I ever get enough donuts. I earned several during Halloween but also finally caved in and bought SVT to help with trick-or-treating.
Barney is pretty good plus the Bowlorama has a 20 hour task for Ned Flanders that pays out more than his 24 hour one. If you send characters on 24 hour tasks, then this one is 4 better.
I bought a ton of land today. I got 4 donuts and a burning bush clearing the debris. Unfortunately, this proved to be too taxing for Lisa, as she got stuck on a puddle and I could not get her out. I clicked the thumb and it disappeared, but she did not become free to re-task. I had to contact EA to unstick her. Figures the only two characters you can’t reset yourself are the only two that can clear debris.
Oh, ok yeah I do that. Actually, I’ve never done it for characters that came with a building, only when characters go on the wrong quest I do it to the building they are in. Didn’t occur to me to do their “home” building! (Even though it reminds you about home buildings when you store.)
Is there a way to “cancel” a task in progress if you realize you need the character for a different task (i.e. the character is needed for another character’s task as part of a quest)? Well, besides paying donuts to complete the task early, that is?
The ability to cancel a task in progress for free (as opposed to paying donuts to complete it early). As I said above, if there is an “undocumented feature” that does this already, then let me know.
Yes, you can absolutely cancel many tasks (not all!) by storing either the original building that the character came with, or by storing the building they are currently performing a task in. Or you can store the character as they walk around doing an outside task. Lisa and Homer cannot be stored, so you cannot cancel an outdoor task of theirs. You also cannot store the Simpson House, so if someone without an associated building is doing a task in there, it is uncancellable.
