I’m realizing that my friends list is full of dead weight and I need to weed it out. If anyone is looking for friends, please add me (swat_yukon795). I was/am on the master list already, but I have a large amount of open spots.
How so? Kind of hard to get started sometimes if your town is all tight but it seems to work ok for me. Took me a second to realize I should click and drag it around.
I tried to add DraconianDuck and swat_yukon795 but it was all “adding friend failed” :-/ Anyone actively playing feel free to add ZipperJJ!
I read yesterday on one of the blogs that EA shut it down because it was paying out donuts too much. Really? I’ve only gotten them a few times myself.
For the elf bottler, it works on my tablet but not on my phone. Pressing the screen on my phone won’t bring up the zapping. A stylus doesn’t work on it either.
Is it at all feasible to get the number of bottled elves to head toward zero? I’m consistently collecting more than I’m firing off in the cannon. I’m not getting up every three hours to shoot the thing off so I’m getting 3-4 groups of firings a day (33 each group).
Also what happens when I tap the cannon in someone else’s town? It triggers the firing animation, but it doesn’t reduce the number of elf bottles in my collection. Does it help out the owner of the town? If so, get your asses to my town and tap my cannon (that sounds vaguely dirty!)
I’m in the opposite situation. Due to lots of time and insomnia I’ve been firing off so many that now I’m barely scraping by without a full load of elves (that sounds dirty too). My cannon is at level 9 - 3 hr cool down and 11 of those flying bastards per volley.
Tapping someone else’s cannon <snicker> Nets you a couple extra bells, I think.
Little tip: going into moving mode and turning off everything except the character eyeball makes it easier to find those sneaky sumbitches.
Are you using the Elf Bottler? If you tap and hold down your finger then wipe all over your town - with the bottler activated (“lightning bolts” coming out from under your finger) - you will get all the hidden elves you touch. And the visible ones of course.
Yeah, it’s my lack of time to launch at every opportunity. I’ve been hovering around 200 unlaunched elf bottles the last few days so I think I’m at a steady state for now. When I can get my launch reload time down and bottles per launch up, I might be able to whittle that down some. Upgrades are getting slower though unless the number of gears available is increased at some point.
In my experience, the elf taser is little more than worthless. Once in awhile it will collect a group before they disperse but individuals that are hiding or behind buildings still need a direct whollop with the finger to get hit. I have tested on two so far, get the taser going then slowly close in on the elf. They will be completely in the field an won’t poof until the stylus comes in contact.
There is a short new year quest with Homer today but there also seems to be server issues over at EA. Some of the members of the board there are saying that EA got hacked though I haven’t read anything else about it myself.
I just turn the taser on and “sweep” across my whole town, going up and down or diagonal. I don’t get all the elves, but tons of them. Think of it as a vacuum cleaner.
It’s older than the recent updates, but I think not original. “Better them than me” is for when a person finishes a job first, with a longer version if Homer finishes. If the racetrack is first, Homer sings a racetrack bugle tune; the farm is “Mmm… crops.” “Push Notification” is for other things, not sure what specifically. There is supposedly one for when visitors come but I’ve never heard it. It’s mostly “better them than me” 90% of the time (although I keep the sound off).
We got a cheap, small (8" screen) Android tablet NYE and I was able to log into the Simpsons on that with all my stuff. This game looks so amazing on a bigger screen, it really brings out the little details and how colorful everything is.
Why do some people pile all their debris and nuclear waste in one spot? Does it provide some benefit somehow?
