It increases your multiplier just like some premium decorations do. By the way, to find your total multiplier, the easiest way is to tap a Gulp ‘N’ Blow and count how much money it gives you. The base for that building is $100, so anything else is a bonus. E.g. it drops $111, so your multiplier is 11%.
To get 5 stars, it often requires creative purchasing. Multiple houses, Kwik-E-Marts, Gulp ‘N’ Blows, and Krusty Burgers are usually needed, and it’s up to you if you want to make it look nice.
The main way to lose stars is through righteousness. The others don’t go down unless you gain a level. It’s not too terribly expensive if you buy creatively (a cheap tree might provide the same benefit as some expensive Tree Hugging item).
You don’t have to do the Gulp N Blow anymore. They changed it a couple updates ago. You simply click on the stars and it will list your bonus percentage right there. You get 1% per star–that’s pretty low. I wouldn’t worry too much about it and concentrate on leveling up. The only thing I would recommend would be to buy 20 or so training walls to keep your Righteousness at a permanent 5 stars. It’s pretty cheap and once you get it to 5 stars it will never go back down. Just keep buying the walls until it hits 5 stars.
I have all the Collector’s buildings: all it does is give you $100 and takes the task off your task book. Not worth it just to do it. Just craft the buildings you actually want.
I can’t check now, but does that list your premium items bonus as well, or just the Conform-O-Meter bonus? Because not knowing the former is the harder to figure out.
Well, it turns out that there is absolutely nothing stopping me from creating an extra ID for my phone, or any number of them if I really wanted to dick around re-logging. And then I can just friend myself. As long as I’ve gone that far, I might as well start making friend requests from anybody on the Straight Dope who’s dropped an ID. I’m:
NomenScribe (the account where most of my actual stuff is registered) and,

The 20-donut bonus gave me enough to get Bartman, and I pulled the trigger. I don’t log in often enough to produce thugs for all of the superheros to fight, though, so I’m not sure I made the right move.
After six months, my phone finally died for real and I could justify getting a new one. I did it today and the first thing I did was download TSTO and play for an hour. I am back and it’s great. I have a ton of catching up to do, but I don’t care. I missed this game so much. If you took me off your friends list as a deadbeat, please add me back. I’m minionkat there as here. woo hoo!
I thought about getting Bartman, but it’s not as if it’s an extra character; it’s just another skin for Bart. Once this quest is over, it’s only really worth it if Bartman has some lengthy (e.g. 24-hour tasks that let him remain outdoors so anybody who visits your Springfield can see him.
It’s done it for awhile, and it doesn’t happen every time. I can’t figure out how to recreate it.
Possibly for the some reason, I get the “you have collected everything” message normally once I tap everything and then wait for everything to be collected. But occasionally I’ll get the message after I tap but before everything flies into my inventory.
At least when the “tap 30 of the bad guys” task comes up, if you tap the go to button it takes you right to a bad guy to squish. Radioactive Man head, go to button, squish, repeat.
