So how is it different from the rest of the game?
The Burns Money Hill line is going to have to wait, maybe forever. It’s such a boring thing to do and looks like it will take forever.
And that’s why I owe Clash of Candies $20,000!
Argh.
Grinding away to get DNA (that just sounds wrong…) for the Gas N’ Grub…and they start TWO new quest lines (Lunchlady Doris and Ralph’s sushi career) ?!? WTF ?!?
I don’t have the Happy Sumo. Should I get it?
New “act” started today. Who knew the clones were opera fans?
The Simpson’s Houseboat seems to be the main objective here. I’ve got the Farmer’s Market & the Gas N Grub now - screw the field & cactus patch
At lease the “mask” tasks are 8 and 12 hour ones (so far) - those 1 & 2 hour ones were brutal
The long tasks are good on one hand, but they suck on another because if you need someone to do Cecil’s tasks, you gotta do the store character’s building thing.
I don’t really see how I’m going to complete this event’s crafting. I’ll get one of most things, but I can’t imagine I’ll get one of EVERYthing and multiples of some of the “smaller” things that should cost next to nothing but are outrageously expensive (walls).
This is frustrating as hell. Yesterday I was about 1000 DNA strands from Dr. Robert. Today, New act, now I’m 8000 away. If you can’t play 3 or 4 times a day, everyday, you’re screwed.
Given how much you are into this game, I figured you would know to keep the characters who fill the most categories (like Grandpa Simpson and Sideshow Bob) on short tasks. Actually, you probably already know that, but maybe this will help some others. While I don’t know all the characters off the top of my head, basically the more event (yellow) tasks a character has, the more categories that character is in.
My own little thing is that any character with 3+ yellow tasks, I keep at or below the time of the current Cecil task. Any character with 2 or less, I do either their only task, or the one that gets me the collectible I prefer.
Just dropping by to say I’ve successfully quit this game (fingers crossed), so anyone who has me as a friend probably should drop me, and if that list of players is still going around, I should be removed from that.
I generally keep most characters on the shortest currency earning task, but it does get overwhelming and stupid after a while. I can’t wait to send everyone out for 24 hours and just walk away in a couple weeks, if I don’t ragequit before then. Today I was lucky that I had to use a celebrity for most of my tasks, so I always had one free. I think it also sucks that this event we can’t tell which characters or task lengths are coming up like we could before through spoiler sites. That helped a lot.
I did go through the trouble to secure the Springfield Farmer’s Market, because that was at least one acquisition that wouldn’t seem random and out-of-context once the related quest went away – Springfield has a Farmer’s market, why not? But the rest is pretty feh.
I blew a bunch on doughnuts on the mystery box. Overall, I think it paid off better than buying the individual items I actually cared about, but I got a lot of extras. I’m going to have to establish a Lard Lad district.
So I was thinking today… why did we get half a dozen Monsarno buildings that don’t pay out and probably don’t affect the conform-o-meter? Why couldn’t we have had ONE building that changed its appearance like the elf cannon did? I like the look of my Monsarno complex but I don’t NEED it. I’m also not short on land… yet. I’d have preferred a building that got bigger and fancier than a bunch of them. They literally look like TFGQFS buildings.
I personally have a small “Minnow Pond” district. Got like 6 of those suckers in boxes.
You can do it with just five characters. Quimby, Wolfcastle, Grandpa, Rod (or Todd) and Comic Book Guy. They cover all the categories. I put everyone else to work and keep those four (one is doing a task) free or on a similarly time timed task.
I built the farmer’s market and the Gas n’ Go. They seem like the only ones really worth the effort. I am tempted to just keep updating the zapper, Monsarno and the Opera House to see how far they go. I heard there was no upper limit. Monsarno is at level 25 or 26 I think, zapper deal is at 15ish and the Opera House at level 9.
I haven’t had any trouble getting all the level prizes, plus donuts. I have been playing a lot. My bf had surgery a couple of weeks ago and I have been spending time with him, and he noticed how much I have been playing. I have let visiting towns slip by the wayside, but I am going to visit them all this weekend. Watch out! I have almost 200 pod things and am going to distribute them all. Good times.
I am beyond bored with this event.
I am amazed at how people can play this once an hour, every hour, for weeks and weeks on end.
the only prize I am going to try to get before this is over is the Homer Decoy thing. Because it makes me laugh. Other than that? I don’t need anything else. I have to look at one of those fan sites that breaks everything down to see how many times I might have to upgrade the stupid opera stage… Problem is, every time you upgrade the thing, you lose all the masks you’ve collected. I don’t want to do all the math to figure out the optimal upgrade number, but I guess it’s either that, or a boatload of donuts.
I am so sick of the Burns money toss. Repetition for what, exactly? Anyone know if this ends when the event ends, or can you skip it and use Burns for masks/DNA/whathaveyou?
[Rage Quit Story - Family Guy]
And someone mentioned doing a rage quit… That made me laugh, because I did that with the Family Guy game. I was playing it from time to time, and past week they had this Peter outfit, where Peter had the birds in his beard. So I started to try and collect the things required to get the outfit. The requirements were crazy. You had to collect 4 different colored birds, and one of the bird colors required 80 freakin’ birds! Anyway, a couple of days ago, they put a pop-up saying the outfit was going away in a day. I wasn’t even close.
The only way to get most of the prizes on that game is to pay for clams, and clams are not cheap. I quit. It felt good. :-). (I still have the game on my iPad for my daughter… She likes to watch the characters, but she doesn’t really play it).
[/Rage Quit Story - Family Guy]
At least with the Simpsons, a freemium player can gather enough stuff through visiting friends and occasional town visits. It doesn’t HAVE to be an obsession.
These games are great for mindless entertainment, but I do feel bad for folks that HAVE to complete and/or collect everything… That HAS to be very difficult for folks…or expensive.
Thanks!
Don’t know how I missed it.
I am almost positive I have Martin Prince’s dress outfit. He’s been locked up eating candy so long, I can’t recall. But I am guessing this was a premium item, only availabe for a short time…
Anyone seeing a glitch with their character’s menus? Ever since the last update, I now have a few characters whose two-hour fertilizer tasks are no longer highlighted at the top of the task list. So when I am blowing through the list of characters and assigning them tasks, I miss some of them now because the 2 hour tasks with fertilizer are not immediately visible.
I got about half way to the Peter Bird thing (half way on each color bird) and I play it quite a bit. I don’t think there was any realistic way to get that. It was almost like the ended the event two weeks early.
And I have no fuckin’ idea what’s going on now. I’m putting out fires, but each time I tap on one it tells me I have to train a fire fighter, but I thought I did, then the fire is out. So did I? Do I need to train more? How? What? so confused.
That game is really awful with directions. Every one of their events is a train wreck.
I liked the star trek one.
Putting out a fire uses up the firefighter. Which is kind of sad when you think about it. Maybe we should be giving the rookies more than 1 hour of training.
The Burns money mountain thing is a permanent feature. It’ll cost 5 and a half million to complete…
