The Simpsons: Tapped Out

…the clock is running out, and I have $3000.00 fake dollars available and nothing in the shop is really saying “buy me buy me buy me!” What should I spend the money on? Need answer in 10 hours and 7 seconds!

And now we have a useless stadium that just takes up space.

…said every Olympics hosting city, ever, with the possible exception of Los Angeles, which, IIRC, only built one stadium just for 1984 - the velodrome - and had the foresight to make it in such a way that it could be moved to the training center in Colorado Springs after the games ended.

I’m buying fencing for my stadium, so I can at least make it look nice as it rots away.

Has anyone had any problems getting into the game recently? I open it up on my phone, and I get the first screen. But rather than be directed to the loading screen, all I get is a black screen, and I have to close the window.

I played about an hour ago (before midnight Eastern) and now I can’t get in at all. Perhaps they are resetting cuz the game is over.

I get that all the time and it’s nothing new. Kill the program or restart your device.

On the other hand, I get this too. I’m guessing server problems.

Even that to me seems not QUITE as ugh-inducing as all the land taken up by “castles”. Though I didn’t get a lot of the stadium upgrades so some may have it be more space-stealing than it is in my Springfield.

Massive update hit this afternoon. Huge expansion ala squidport/KL. But you earn currency in weird parts like FGQFS and TSTO events, not just cash or tickets.

Cool. I was able to grind out 3 more doughnuts before manually updating.

For those who have updated, do the characters with Tap Ball outfits show any signs of what their final star levels were? For example, post-update, can you tell how many stars Homer or Ned had at the end of the event?

It’s funny, Herb Powell’s mansion was the last straw for me, because half the friggin buildings are mansions and restaurants, but now we get a mansion district.

I’m still holding out for a hammock district.

My mansion district is rapidly turning into a flea-market. Because of the dumbass structure of the tasks, I’m having to buy a crapload of decorations before I buy the property to spread them in.

I still seem to have all of the tap ball stuff active. I’m still getting fans, collecting pennants and racking up my overtime bonus. At least it’s a consistent source of donuts.

I made the jump and updated. I got 3 more donuts this morning and at first I figured that I could keep going after them but I’m ready to end that. At some point they’ll force it.

I’m not sure what I think. I like the IDEA of it, but the execution is a huge pain in the ass. If you’re not playing constantly, like drain your battery because you’re resetting things every 30 seconds constantly, it’s going to take months to make progress.

I LOATHE how full my taskbook is. I like 2-3, maybe 4 in events. I have at least 6.

I don’t mind grinding a bit, but it’s so much of a grind and so many currencies. And no way to earn extra. Like it’d be nice if the mystery boxes gave you craftable stuff. You also need the currency for too much: making OTHER currency, leveling up buildings, buying more land. The limits in storage are really unfair too.

It’s not awful and I don’t hate it, but I just wish the mechanics were more reasonable and “tapped out” was a metaphor, not a goal

Yeah this Springfield Heights looks to be a huge pain in the ass. Because I happened to have off work, I played obsessively and bought/built nearly everything I can with furniture and coffee. I’m hoping that once you advance further the tasks will get much longer. I hate having to keep my tablet on and tapping away until the charge runs out. Repeatedly.

Time to start making personal devices - oh, wait, I need to get Professor Frink in order to make this not take forever.

(One forever later…)

Now, time to start making yoga mats…oh, wait, I need to get Disco Stu in order to make this not take two forevers.

Wait we’re going in to another special game right away?!?! AAAAAH!!

I just last night got the update, turned off my Tapball stuff. I still have to build up my bank account, arrange my stadium, and Clean Up Springfield and buy more land. I don’t have time for more grindin’

Curses!

It’s not a special game, it’s an addition, like the Squidport. You’re to complete it at your leisure.

Patience, people, patience.
