The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I was really in to TapBall and doing pretty well once or twice a day with Springfield Heights. But I’ve only logged in once for the Monorail so far. I don’t feel like grinding all day again, already.

I have one with Luigi.

He was supposed to have an 8 hour task, but once it completed, he now has a -56 showing. It DID fo down by one when the first one completed, but damn if I am going to set him off doing that for the next month and a half. I assume they will fix the bug. If not, Luigi will be in my task bar until I quit the game.

That’s a known issue, I have it with Bart and Milhouse and the 24 hour sleepover task.

I have people who dumped trash in my town but I can’t find it yet.

I was grinding for several hours last night then around 3 am it started freezing up on me. I played for like 15 mins this morning and it did it again, and again just now.

Anyone else?

I guess i got lucky - my repeater is the 1 hour Bart at Kwik E Mart task

Can I ask what this means?

How are you supposed to “find” dumped trash and what does it look like?

(I swear, this game is becoming too confusing or I am going senile. Or both, of course.)

I’m getting the negative quest as well with Ned.

I’m not happy how the set this up compared to Springfield Heights. In SH we had tasks at 30s, 2min, 5 min, ect. This monorail thing to go from 30s to 1 hour tasks is dumb.

Well, I just figured a few things out.

The stink waves above the houses I knew meant that someone dumped trash there… What I didn’t know was that by tapping on a building with stink waves, you get 1 blueprint, and the stink waves go away… Except for the 6 buildings I have currently set aside which causes the game to crash instantly.

This is one buggy, terrible update/event. I wonder why they rushed it out so fast… Usually, the events are much less painful, but this one has bugs all over it. It took me a while to figure out why the game was crashing, but I narrowed it down to certain homes and buildings. If anyone else has this problem, I will post the buildings I crash on… Maybe there is a consistent theme, although based on the different characters stuck in negative event space, it may just be random.

Is anyone else’s Frink bugged?

You know those random character tasks? I got the “flying machine” one for Frink when I needed him in the heights and just ignored the random task for a week or two. Now, my Frink has (this is not a typo) -121/1 for that task. It started at -130/1 (or so…I don’t remember the exact number) and each time I do it, I gain 1 point. So in 121 hours of play, I’ll eventually get to 0/1. At which point, presumably, one more repeat will finish it.

I don’t really care all that much, it’s a hour long task, so no big deal to do, it stops me from getting other characters who are needed for the monorail task. I’m mainly just curious if anyone else is/has experienced this.

BTW: Before anyone asks, yes I tried putting Frink in storage. Left him there overnight, didn’t get a random task, put him back and the number (like -124/0) stayed the same.

Aaaaand…if I’d have read the thread instead of just searching for “Frink”, I’d have seen it was a known issue.

Nevermind.

And don’t forget the Lance Murdoch thing…which is also buggy as hell. I’ve had to have him go to those 3 “danger zones” like 3 times.

Too damned much, too damned fast.

I don’t have Frink, but my Homer has a negative task (-274/1), so it’s not just him.

This latest release is a joke.

Every day, I have a few more stink buildings that make the game crash immediately. I am up to 12.

If I just had a few that I could ignore, I could live with that. But there are so many bugs in this thing that make the game crash repeatedly. And I am not the only one seeing this.

I don’t know why EA didn’t test this a bit more. It doesn’t take long for these bugs to show up, and many of them seem universal. What kind of testing process do they have in place at that company, anyway?

i think the biggest question is “why am I still playing this game?” It is supposed to be a diversion, not raise my blood pressure.

Hmmm… Maybe I am actually addicted to this.

My Mayor Quimby is the same way.

I was afk and then had wifi issues (and no cell signal) so I’m fairly far behind judging by the progress calendars floating around. I’m looking for advice: buy the license to double my blueprints when visiting friends or hope that I can grind enough now to finish this act?

I have finished every event I’ve played in plenty of time (except Easter. ugh… Easter). So I might be able to catch up by grinding. I also have plenty of donuts. It’s so damn expensive and it’s not THAT many more blueprints. Would I be better off buying the building(s) instead? Or grind grind grind?

I’ve seen sites that always recommend NOT getting the licenses but if you’re going to get it, the sooner the better. It may be better to get a character that you don’t have, like that handsome young vegetarian.

I haven’t had any crashes in a while now. I don’t know if it’s because I cleaned off some space on my Touch’s drive, or because I’m playing at different hours, or EA fixed something.

It didn’t feel like a “specific building” glitch to me, at least my crashes. Seemed very random, like server overload.

Fair Rarity I can’t hardly tell what the point of this event is. I haven’t been playing as much as I did when we did Tapball, and I don’t feel like I’m behind. I wouldn’t waste the 90 donuts on a license - you get 18 blueprints per friend. I don’t think an extra 18 per friend is going to put you over the top.

I wonder if this is OS specific?

I am on an iPad, running the very latest iOS update.

It was crashing before the update and now after, so that wasn’t the problem. And I’ve done all the standard things, like deleting and reinstalling, rebooting, etc. nothing seems to work.

What I have noticed is that the buildings that crash the game all seem clumped together in some way.

I have 3 buildings on my boardwalk right next to each other, about 7-8 buildings all together in my town space, and a few buildings near the tunnel to SH. Even after relocating the buildings, they stay infected, but that’s all I can see so far.

Reading the ea site and one other site indicates I am not unique. But I am done trying to troubleshoot this. If EA doesn’t fix it, so be it.

I have a Level 5 Classic Mansion, but I can’t figure out where to place the “attachments” that come with it. Is it even possible? How do you connect both a side balcony and a side building?

LOL!

I couldn’t figure out a good way to use all of the pieces, either. So now, I leave all pieces in inventory.

Sorry I couldn’t help. I suspect you are supposed to swap lower level pieces for higher level ones, but I could be wrong. It should be fairly obvious, but it isn’t to me…
