The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I grinded out a ton of crap today, to the point where cashing in the stuff I earned wasn’t worth it. I don’t know where I am on the calendars, but it’s not like I have to have this character we get and maybe I can just spend donuts on him in Act II or whatever if I can’t craft him for free. Plus I still have a week to grind that crap out. Rushing a few things here or there might cost me fewer donuts than the license. If I forget to visit my friends then the license is extra useless.

I think the point of this is to grind out as much crap as possible to earn more monorail pieces so it can go all the way around your town. I was thinking today how disappointed a new player will be when s/he starts the game after this event and can’t get a monorail. Or us older players who might start a second town. Sure, I missed Whacking Day but I have had the opportunity to buy most of the prizes with donuts. To buy a full monorail in the future will be outrageous.

It’s weird that Other Springfield doesn’t have a monorail. I wanted to look and see how you’re really supposed to put these station pieces together and they didn’t bother to put one in their model town?

I can’t store completed Springfield heights buildings anymore with the last update which is the only reason I was still upgrading my buildings. Does anyone know if this is a glitch or by design?

I’m reasonably sure it was on purpose because some people were storing their SH buildings and they would disappear completely. I think EA disabled storing until they fix the problem.

I caught up to where I’m supposed to be by the calendars! So glad I didn’t buy the license. I do like the premium buildings but they’re a little pricy for my tastes.

…so does anyone have a good build strategy for their monorail? I’m just kinda building out in two directions, moving things out of its way as I go, then when I hit the third act I’m gonna bring them together. I’m just hoping the maths works out and I don’t run out of pieces, and hopefully you get the option of buying monorail sections after the event is over.

I’m not moving anything around until I have everything.

I’m going to build it big enough that it can complete a circle near the building. Like small enough to fit in a couple squares of land. It looks pretty pathetic riding back and forth right now.

After it can do a circuit I’ll store my pieces and incorporate them nicely when I know I have to work with. I’m sure someone on the EA forums or wherever will work out the math of how many of which pieces you need to get around your whole town.

I also have several buildings (all in the same map area) that instantly crash every time I try to clean up the junk. And it’s not a platform thing as I have the game on both iphone 6 and ipad 2 and it crashes both.

I now have all of the rail parts from Act One, but I suspect I won’t get the dude who’s the last prize. I can live with that.

I have to say, my devotion to the game had been flagging, but it has been reinvigorated by the monorail. I’m loving this, and actually looking forward to rearranging my whole town now.

By the way, if any of you are not already friends with me, I’m tomtildrum00.

I’ve intentionally not been sending Mayor Quimby on the collect bribes (or whatever it was) task that was showing as -25/1, and for the past few days, been using him to collect trash.

First thing this morning, there was a task completed popup for him and he was no longer on the taskbar. Woohoo!

I simply do not play nearly enough to complete these types of events. And I play everyday.

I got the guy and have collected a few extra rail pieces. You don’t really earn THAT many more. Like I’ve earned more bonus overtime donuts than rail pieces. But I did get enough to complete a small loop of my monorail.

I am really hoping that we get a 2-3 week break between this event’s end and Halloween and no level drop for a while.

Unless I buy multiples of everything, there’s not much more I can do in SH right now but I grinded today and maxed out craftables in all the buildings so if something does drop, I have the stuff to make it.

I’m just the opposite.

I have my peaks and valleys, but the Monorail, which initially I liked, has just become a crash-fest.

I am surprised that not more folks out here are experiencing the same problem I am, but each day, I get 3 new building that I cannot clear the trash from.

I’ve deleted and re-installed, and everything else. Nothing helps. EA has no patch for this bug, which is hitting people in various ways all over.

If it doesn’t clear up when act 2 opens, I may run out of buildings that won’t be contaminated.

The good news is I hit the $1 Billion club, so I don’t have to chase that any longer. Not a big deal, I just don’t care much for the massive buildings.

Got this a little while ago but didn’t really get much into it. Quick question: Is it possible to hard reset?

I tried deleting it and the cloud backup…no dice.

This is a big deal for me. I always make rookie mistakes. If I can’t start over, I’m not interested in staying with it. Same with that XBox 360 Olympic game that didn’t let me reset personal records.

You can blow your Springfield up. I believe it puts everything you own into storage except the Simpsons house. You can also make a new Origin account and sign into your game with that if you want to start completely from scratch.

Before anyone else asks…yes, you can connect Tetanus Terminal to the existing system, and no, the two trains don’t crash into each other; you only get one train when you connect them.

And the Tetanus Terminal gives you possums every four hours too.

I hadn’t thought about this until tonight, but for those of you who don’t clean up your towns often enough, I’m crapping in your Krustyland.

I’ve had quite a few lockups over the past couple days on a Google Nexus 5. I’ll tap a character’s picture in the top left to give them a job, the scene will shift to their location, but it locks before the task list box pops up. I have to go to settings/apps and do a force stop on it. A couple times it locked during startup, and once locked after opening the scratch card.

New update just came out with Gil hawking a Curves-like gym for women. It looks like it includes a skin for Marge.
