…I realized about five days ago I was screwed for the gate. The first prize was at 180 smores, the second at 1620, the third at 2160, and the fourth at 5040. But the gate is at 9,282: so the first four prizes cost 5040 smores and the last prize cost friggin 4,230 smores. I was tapping way too slowly but didn’t realize till too late. I really wasn’t too focused on tapping on the snakes and the rabbits etc: they took too long to find: but if your husband is tapping those but you are not, then that make a huge difference. In trying to catch up I’ve gone from tapping 15-30 nightmares every four hours to a 100: but it takes time to find all the little buggers.
I’m really disappointed in myself that I can’t come up with something to follow “if your husband is tapping those but you are not, then that make a huge difference”
There is something wrong, I think, with the drop rate of the smores. That last prize is probably a thousand more than it should be with the low rate you get from nightmares. Also, I’m not getting any smores from friends or terrors, just more useless crafting items. Good thing I have no interest in this gate.
I got the gate yesterday.
I need 200 “nightmares” smashed to upgrade the campfire. I need to upgrade the campfire one more level to pass this latest “Shopkeeper’s Challenge.” I need to do all the steps in the Shopkeeper’s Challenge to get my 20 donuts!
I have been stuck on 54 nightmares smashed for at least 2 days now. I keep smashing more nightmares…zombies, snakes, skeletons, rabbits. The number never goes up from 54.
Anyone else?
ETA: nevermind, I figured it out. Thanks to this graphic on this page.
I agree that gate thing seemed to be such a far leap from the walking donut.
I think there might be prizes (Hugo?) between the penultimate prize and the gate. Maybe that’s why there is a large gap? And those of us who played before don’t see those prizes so it seems extra big.
The gate is really nothing special, although I’d be annoyed if I didn’t get it (I did, several days ago). Maybe it can be crafted in part 2, as sometimes missing things can be in other events.
Just a reminder that part 2 goes live in 6 hours. 3am EDT. It’s supposed to be much better and might include stuff from last night’s episode. It was not THOH but it was Halloween-themed and really, really good.
So keep your characters (esp Homer, Bart, Lisa, Apu, the early ones) available to hit the ground running. Not the best time to put people on 24-hour tasks. Hold off on friend visits if you got the prizes too.
There’s a Bart & Lisa task to start it out. Homer gets his own task too.
Figures, I’ve got Lisa telling snake stories right now, so I have to delay her start until the next Upgrade comes.
Lisa’s telling snake stories for me as well. I’ll have to pick up her part of the task later, me thinks.
I did finally get the gate. My husband is PISSED, by the way. He paid for Kodos maybe two years ago? I just crafted him.
Kodos is female, couldn’t you tell? Or at least she is in some episodes, it varies, but seems to be more ambiguous than Kang. Homer’s unlock message (at least this year) uses female pronouns as well.
Homer’s task unlocks the next stage of the event, and afterwards you need Homer, Abe, and Kirk free, as well as Luann if you bought her (i.e. both of Milhouse’s parents).
No gate for me, not even close.
Uhhhhh… The adult costumes…
I think monorail crafting might be bugged. My game is locked up.
Getting the fairy skin for Kodos is screwing up people’s towns, so did you get that, moidalize?
I paid donuts for Kodos 2 years ago and I’m not thrilled s/he is free now. But I did get the store with the daily tasks for free and it cost donuts in the past. There was a big fuss with the premium islands that we all got a few days later for free, so I don’t know why they did it again. Kodos didn’t cost THAT much. My first premium purchase.
With all the problems I had with my game and now with premium stuff being free, I’m less likely to buy premium stuff.
I’m really, really, really annoyed that when you upgrade your campfire you still get the stupid tents and cabins and bush walls. Sigh. I’m going to end up with more tents than Superhero phone booths. I’d have rather the upgrade prizes be pumpkins and spooky trees and have us craft the tents and cabins. So to a certain extent, what’s the point of having all these characters who can now earn gummis? The prizes, sure, but after I get the last one, I’m not going to be grinding for gummis for MORE TENTS.
Oh, and when you craft the skins for Krustyburger and KEM, the skin only appears on ONE of the buildings if you have multiple. And it’s not switchable from the ones it doesn’t appear on, so you might have to move your KEMs and KBs around.
IIRC, at the end of the episode “The Man Who Came to Be Dinner.” when Kang and Kodos arrive at Omicron Persei 8, one of LRRR/NDND asks which of them is female, and they act as if both of them are.
I just dumped 5 Formless Horrors in each of my friends’ boxes, if you want 'em check for 'em.
So we no longer get extra gummies for making s’mores? I am getting xp + monsters for each kid at the campfire, but only gummies when I squish the monster.
ETA OK, oddly, when I click on “tell a story” Bart still gets monsters + gummy, but everyone else says that they will get monsters + xp. Bug?
App store update today that fixes the employment office. So you should be able to “send all on x-hour jobs” now.
Looks like a sizeable update too. I did notice that there was an update yesterday and that made dropping off the horrors in other towns faster.
Employment office is working again. Not sure yet how to keep the XP Multiplier running in the future. Guess we’ll find out tomorrow.
