I got an update today and it seems to be working at full speed now.
Of course, I also upgraded from an iPod Touch 5 to an iPhone 6s so…ZOOM!!
The unemployment office was cool but for me the real slowdown was collecting everyone after jobs, anyway. We’ll see what happens after Halloween. Maybe it’s good not to encourage us to have all our peeps stuck for 24 hours?
Mine’s slow as hell when helping my Neighboreenos - it’s taking forever to move to the next town. I’ve got 300+ terrors to unleash, but it’s such a pain in the ass to wait 30+ seconds between towns
This, plus it can take forever to find three nightmares to squish. It used to be that if you centered on a road and waited for about 30 seconds, they would start coming to you.
Last night it took me almost an hour to go through 3/4 of my 100ish neighbors. I have more than 90, but not sure how many.
Tonight and this morning it took a lot less time, but still more than it did pre-monorail takedown, which is about when everything seems to have broken.
A trick for finding stuff is to look at the campfire and see which kid is telling the story. Then at least you know WHAT to look for and where. Lisa=snakes, which go everywhere. Milhouse = rabbits, which also go everywhere but stand out more than snakes bc of the purple. Bart and martin = zombies and skeletons, which MOSTLY stick to the roads.
If I can’t find something quickly, I just skip tapping, drop a nightmare or two or three, then go to the next town.
As That Don Guy & Labtrash said, it takes for freakin’ ever to dump terrors (just dump the damn things and don’t spend minutes panning over someone’s town showing me where they are) and I’ve largely given up looking for nightmares because they’re so rare
I can dump about 40 nightmares, then the game crashes.
There’s nothing to craft. I’ve got like 1500 bunny ears and I don’t want 15 dead trees (or whatever), so why bother?
Because they took away the new Unemployment office power, I’ve got too many characters wandering the roads so I can’t click on nightmares without hitting a character about 50% of the time.
Ever since they moved over to EA, things are slooooooooooowwwwww…
Too many tasks for too few characters. I’ve got like 3 Bart related tasks stacked up and until recently had a similar amount of Homer tasks. There are a ton of non-premium characters…use them.
At a minimum they should have used the same mechanism to collect the nightmares as they have in previous events - the circle wave that gets bigger with each upgrade. Like **Fenris **says, it sucks trying to hit something and instead pull up a character task list or building stat. Those formless fuckers are fast.
I’m also finding that my neighbors’ towns are already so often stuffed with formless horrors, so I can’t even drop any. Maybe I’m visiting at the wrong time of day.
That’s one of my biggest peeves about this game. Any time there’s been an event that has involved chasing things down, if you click on a person or building, the screen gets centered to that and a box pops up. Then you have to quickly clear the box and figure out where the thing is now (or if it’s even still there if it’s a thing that disappears after a few seconds).
It’s not too bad trying to catch snakes. Even tapping on a group of people will still get you the snake in the middle of them, but the nightmares are pretty tough to get when they run down a crowded street or into a house farm.
I wasn’t referring to dropping faceless terrors in neighbors’ towns; I was referring to searching for nightmares (zombies, snakes, rabbits, skeletons) to click on. If I need to click on them, then it should be easier for me to find them. Standing still and waiting for them to come to me (assuming I’m on a road) doesn’t work like it used to.
Yeah, I look in the area I’m dropped in the town, click on any I see immediately, then drop a terror - it moves me to a different area - click on any Nightmares - drop another terror - click on any Nightmares - by that time I’ve usually found at least 3 - drop a couple more terrors and move on.
Currently dropping 4 terrors per Neighboreeno, because I’ve got 'em to spare.
I’m fairly sure smores go away but we keep collecting eggs and brains and bunnies and bones.
Not 100%, but fairly sure.
I got the gate thingy today. Now all I have to do is earn 900 tents and cabins that I don’t need. Ugh, such crappy prizes.
I’m not crafting ANOTHER spooky house or tree either, dammit. Supposedly we don’t have to, that the quest isn’t necessary and doesn’t really go anywhere. I’m too annoyed at the overdose of shitty prizes that I won’t make more of LAST YEAR’S prizes too.
They are nice enough decorations. I do like them. I just don’t need MULTIPLE seasonal ones that I already have. I’d rather just get regular trees for cash for tree hugging.
The update today cleared out the tasks, I think. So it’s moot now. And I am glad for people who wanted more or never got them at all to get a chance.
While my town isn’t going fast, it is going a little better each day.
I made a “forest” of dead and spooky trees, sprinkled with spooky groves, and put the camp fire in the middle. I’d actually like to get a few more of the trees so I can put the forest in a bigger area and expand it.
Can you save any of the currency for the next round, does anyone know?
I don’t understand it! I’m still a thousand away from the gate thing and that doesn’t make sense. My husband got his yesterday, we play about the same.
