The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Apparently, that’s partially right. You can’t assign someone to a task automatically if they have a shorter non-standard (1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24 hours) task available. This explains why, the longer the task, the smaller the number of characters that can be assigned to that length. I think this includes Springfield Heights tasks and the 3-hour glass recycling task, but I’m not sure. (Characters with 1-hour and 2-hour recycling tasks available may also be on the “no automatic jobs” list.)

It also explains why Selma got a task but Patty did not; Patty has a 6-hour task, but Selma’s requires you to buy Jub-Jub first, which I did not.

So today I yet again tried to contact EA and this time the guy said he couldn’t (wouldn’t?) help me and to wait for the specialists who were given my case four days ago to get back to me.

Sigh.

I got an email from EA today saying basically “Great news. I went into your town and fixed it. It’s back to level 57.” Um… you didn’t fix anything. I LOST 57. All my progress is still gone.

I’m about ready to quit the game and I’m about one more episode away from never, ever buying a donut.

I got an email today saying they fixed my town

They hadn’t.

I think that sent me over the edge more than waiting 2 weeks for them to fix their mistake.

I tried again and finally talked to someone who knew what I was talking about. I got my missing premium stuff back, but I have to do the level again. But at least I’m ready for Halloween, even if I’m broke in-game from no income for two weeks (I hadn’t played in case they reset my town and I lost all the progress I made. I’d rather be broke than have tapped for two weeks and lose it all). I did do enough in-game I got the weird Homer Dog thing in time.

I also did not get my “sorry for fucking up your game” donuts, but I’ll put in another ticket tomorrow. I do have in writing that I was promised them by one rep.

Is it just me, or am I getting more blueprints than listed for my recycling jobs? I find it a little hard to believe that I can get to 70,000 in five days on a regular basis, especially when three of them are limited to about 5 hours each.

I contacted EA for donuts. They offered me 15. I would have earned more than 15 in the two weeks had I played, so that wasn’t a good deal and told them so, but I said I’d take what they’d give me.

Like I don’t want to be a mega bitch, being an entitled whiner to them, but I had to contact them several times and my game was unplayable due to their error. Getting $1 of content kind of sucks when they lost that same amount of my content and couldn’t fix it. I just want something to make me stop being mad at them enough that I would purchase donuts again rather than revert to freemium.

Anyway, they did not even give me the 15. I’m going to have to contact them again. They refused to give me in-game cash too, which I kind of expected, but since I have less than $20k in my town now, I would have been less angry about the donuts with cash and tickets and craftables.

The guy who fixed my town was really nice though. So there’s that?

And Halloween seems likely to drop next week when Oktoberfest ends. I did buy Uter with donuts I already had. That little chunky monkey running around my town does help my EA rage.

I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been reading along, and sympathizing with all your issues. Sorry to hear it’s still not sorted out yet.

I enjoyed the Monorail game (though I didn’t have too many technical issues), but I’ve been very glad for the brief break before the Halloween event starts.

I am super glad for the break, but I would have liked not to have two weeks off entirely.

I realized the other day going through my friends’ towns I was missing the Self Reliant House and I’m dreading having to call up EA again to get that back, or its donuts, and my missing donuts. And it makes me concerned there are other things I bought and forgot about. I think that was it. Belle was the only one they said they saw, but maybe they didn’t go back far enough. I couldn’t remember anything besides Belle when I called, but it felt like it was more than her. And because the Self Reliant House wasn’t huge, didn’t come with a character or a storyline, and didn’t give a bonus, I forgot it till I was like “hey, I think I bought that!”

Just a reminder Halloween SHOULD be up tomorrow if guesses are right. It came out the Tuesday of this week last October and Oktoberfest ends tomorrow.

Please join me in my caution of letting other people be the guinea pigs and downloading the update first. If nothing else, I’ve learned don’t be the first person to dl an update. :frowning:

I am monorail obsessed. I just want to connect all my stations!

Last night I stayed up until 4 AM because I was thisclose to getting the 5-track-and-donuts prize for this week and had to get it in under the gun. I did it with 3 minutes to spare.

I got 5 donuts, and 1 straight track piece. Not sure what the other 4 track pieces are because I DON’T CARE. EA, you stupid bastards. Stop giving us track pieces we can’t use so we can get on with our lives!!!

And once you do, are you going to shell out for the Krusty Drive-Thru Station?

I thought it was going to be much harder to get the 5 donuts each week than it turns out to be - I can usually get there sometime on Sunday afternoon.

Then again, my usual play is something like this:
Tuesday-Thursday:
4 PM - collect all three plants
5 PM - collect metal
6 PM - collect metal and plastic
7 PM - collect metal and glass
About half the time, at least one of the three plants is full and there are no tasks available that use them.
Friday: keep collecting until around 10 PM
Saturday & Sunday: start at 8 AM
Also, I get every other Friday off from work, which means an 8 AM start (and I usually get the donuts on Saturday afternoon).

I still think I am earning more blueprints than what my tasks say I do, but I’m not sure how. Is there some “blueprint percentage bonus” I am forgetting?

It helps to intersperse the short track pieces in with your long pieces on straightaways.

The squiggly S pieces I have found little use for.

I was right. Halloween dropped. App store update. So far no major breakage. Some minor things here and there.

…I’m not loving it. Lots of crafting, no trick or treating (so far). I don’t hate it, but I don’t think this will be my favorite Halloween.

There seem to be two uses for them.

First, connect them together as a replacement for curve-straight-curve.

Second, if your stations are near your current edge, you use them to open up room along the edge to place buildings.

Is anyone experiencing super-fucking-slowness with the game right now? I don’t remember if it started before or after the Halloween update. It’s not crashing for me it’s just lagging like crazy, making gameplay super frustrating. Especially with all this shit to click on now.

I upgraded my OS to iOS 9 and made sure all my other apps were closed but still…molasses.

It’s beyond slow for everyone. And then the game mechanics themselves are slow as shit.

I really don’t like this update and the more I play it, the more I grow to hate it.

Yeah, it’s locked up my phone on me. Playing the game seems OK, but then everything else slows to a crawl when I close it.

I’m on the task where I need to build the spooky house, which I already have two of from last year. Maybe I’ll sell one and put the new one in its place.

eta: I can’t sell it. Maybe after Halloween is over.

I read a good tip on the ea boards, but it is kind of a pain in the ass: Get rid of your roads. It won’t solve the “where the hell are those gd snakes” problem entirely, but it helps. Keep a road near your LZ (camp fire) and they will tend to congregate there for you and for your neighbors.

I saw spoilers for parts 2 and 3. The prizes are better, but underwhelming compared to previous Halloweens.

I really hate that we are supposed to craft stuff we already have (spooky house, tree) and that we get multiples of the smores prizes. Do I really need two sheds, two tents? I’d rather get a half dozen pumpkins because I can spread them around.

I know I’m mad at EA, so I’m really starting off on the wrong foot, but I don’t want to hate this event and I can’t think of much nice to say about it. Um… I can send people to the Bad Dream House? The math is realistic?

It’s not fun and the prizes suck. I need one of those things to not be true. :frowning:

And it makes me dread Christmas. Like are we going to have the same old boring prizes again? With very little new content for old players?

Is it just me, or has the unemployment office stopped working? It no longer offers me the option to send everyone on jobs.

It’s not just you. I noticed it too. Kinda SUCKS.

Mine too. It was um…fun while it lasted? All 5 days
