The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Anyone else have issues where the game locks up? Mine locks up sometimes when I try to tap the creatures. The game also crashes when I got to neighbor towns to tap them.

Super laggy after the new event started. Seems to be slowly getting better though.

I’m really disappointed it’s the same mechanics again, down to literally digging a second time. :frowning:

Also? I earned a gate as a prize and it’s also something I can craft? So now I have to craft a bunch of bushes or trees or a gate, all things I ALREADY HAVE to level up crafting. Crafting should be ONE PER ITEM and they should be UNIQUE, at least in the event.

F U, EA

This event seems rather unbalanced as one of the collectables maxed out last week (the one which increased tapping radius), the three characters were maxed out yesterday, I’m almost done with the crafting (and I maxed out the 100% bonus for the graveyard+Flanders time even earlier), now I’m grinding out the mummy dressings which will probably take another week+ (11 days left).

But maybe that’s how all these things go.

Thanksgiving mini update. Looks like mystery boxes instead of straight-up hour-by-hour Black Friday deals, but I could be reading the other sites wrong.

Christmas info is on the app store. Four parts… not specifically four “acts.” Hopefully it’ll be a little bit of a change up from the three acts+crafting we’ve been doing non-stop.

New thing just dropped with golden tokens. Short version - if you buy donuts you can get tokens to get stuff. The final prize is a Lard Lad Donut factory that produces six donuts a day. But you need to buy 900 donuts to get it. Or $50 in real world money. And yes, you need to buy the donuts, earned donuts don’t count.

You do get one free token so spend it wisely. Most people are opting for Gold Box, as that is the quest and that has the best prizes.

Pretty good value here… the $1.99 12 donuts + a token gives a pretty hefty 91 donuts equivalent for every $1 spent (a redeemed golden token gives you something worth a minimum of 170 donuts, ((170+12)/2=91)). I’m not doing the math for all the purchases, but I think the only value better is a $1 Golden R scratch off which gets you a chance to win 100 donuts.

Crunching the numbers, the best way to get the 900 is not through the 1-time purchase of 900 donuts for $50 (also gets you 7 tokens), but through 3 purchases of 300 donuts for $20 each (also gets you 5 tokens per purchase, therefore 15 tokens).

One time purchase, 900 donuts + 7 tokens for $50:

(900 + (170×7))/50 = 2,090/50 = 41.8 donuts per dollar spent.

3 purchases of 300 donuts @ $20 each:

(900+(170×15))/60 = 3,450/60 = 57.5 donuts for every dollar spent.

(Technically, you can avg 91 donuts per dollar spent if you make 75 purchases of 12 donuts each, but that will cost $150 and require 75 separate purchases. But if you do that, you will get a minimum of 13,650 donut equivalents ((75×170)+900).)

Any word on when the Christmas event will drop? I took a long break and came back in the middle of Halloween so I didn’t get close to completing it

Nothing official but I’m going to guess this week, most likely Tuesday or Wednesday.

New event dropped with a 6 second job for Lisa followed by 4 hour tasks for Lisa, Millhouse, and Ralph.
On a semi-related note. I realized a couple days ago that Big Claw, the giant turkey pays out when you tap it. I have trouble finding it in my Springfield, but I got money and XP when I did tap it.

Big Claw pays out 3 times every 24hours, so tap it, track it as it runs, tap it again, track it again, tap it. All right after the other.

He gives 2 pills as well as XP and $.

And, just in case somebody forgot, the TV station has timed tasks as well.

Went ahead and got my donut factory, quite happy with it. I spent all my tokens on token items and then spent well over 1k donuts on kids for 20 donuts each (compared to “men” who were going for 90 donuts, a 3.5:1 bargain). When I ran out of kids, I bought alter-egos (25 donuts) then 1 or 2 women (70 donuts).

As far as I can tell, the kids earn the same as adults for the same tasks, so spending 90 for the same thing 20 gets you seemed kind of silly.

I’ve been putting off getting Santa’s Little Helper for a long time because paying a lot of donuts for a character with no tasks seemed silly to me. Lo and behold, they gave him to me today. And with tasks! It’s a Christmas miracle!

I was literally about to post the same thing - how I wanted SLH, how it seemed silly to spend 150 donuts on the dog, how… since I have the donut factory now… I might go ahead and buy him anyway - and now he’s just been given to me. It is a Christmas Miracle™, it is!

I’m happy when stuff is given to players, but seriously, wtf? I paid good donuts for that damn dog. Just like I paid for Kang and/or Kodos.

So long-term players get… nothing?

If they ever get tasks for Handsome Pete, I’m getting that guy.

Is Handsome Pete still available?

One thing I’ve been doing to increase donuts is cancel out my daily contest if it doesn’t offer donuts, forcing the game to offer another one. You can do this once, daily, and I do it if the challenge nets me something lame like… well, like anything other than donuts.

I think I found a bug which gives me an extra 100k XP whenever I exploit it. It requires the “digging tiles” from the Halloween contest, however, AND I’m running the XP Collider.

Not 100% sure of the steps I take to do it, but here goes:

  1. Dig, winning at least two prizes.
  2. Do something else.
  3. Exit the game (you want it to ask if you want to go)
  4. Return to the game.
  5. Voila! 100k XP!
