There are a few we both really like, our wedding song, songs that just remind me of him or him of me. I actually put together a mix a few nights ago on last.fm for my husband since our 5th wedding anniversary is coming up. He hasn’t seen/heard it yet as he’s away on a biz trip, but I’m sure it’s sickeningly sweet enough to give him a toothache when he does.
Lately I’ve really been liking “No One” by Alicia Keys and “You Make Loving Fun” by Fleetwood Mac. I’d go with the first though, since my husband has told me recently it sums up his feelings for me. (And vice versa. ;))
If you’re so funny
then why are you on your own tonight?
and if you’re so clever
then why are you on your own tonight?
if you’re so very entertaining
then why are you on your own tonight?
if you’re so very good looking
why do you sleep alone tonight?
I know. Because tonight is just like any other night.
Tough call. If I’m allowed to nominate something that’s also ‘our song,’ I think I have to give the nod to “Dear Prudence” by the Beatles. Thematically the song just applies to us very strongly. It’s also the song I used to get her attention before we started dating. I was sitting in my car with about 60 seconds to think of something to show her I was interested. We couldn’t talk about it because we weren’t alone. So I flipped through my CD case and that was the song I settled on.
Runners up would be “Here Comes the Sun,” since she is particularly a fan of George Harrison, and “A Man Needs a Maid,” because Neil Young’s music is very significant to us.
My dear heart & I celebrated our 11th anniversary Saturday. My contribution for this thread is Alice Coopers You & Mehttp://youtube.com/watch?v=-C5GuTTz5iw
DH is 58; I’m 54. We’re crazy in love…that’s “just enough for me.”
I always loved this song. From the liner notes to “The Best of Alice Cooper: Mascara and Monsters”
Showing my romantic side that I usually kept hidden. Frank Sinatra once covered this song while performing at the Hollywood Bowl. Backstage, he came over to me and said, “You keep writing 'em kid—and I’ll keep singing 'em.” Wow!
