Emphasis mine. I think the word you’re looking for is “was.”
Send him to the bench, send him to a minor league if you can, the dude is done.
I’m sure you were sure the Canucks would win one of the last three games, too. I was sure, based on their regular season stuff, but the Blackhawks have kicked them seven ways from Sunday over that stretch.
Seriously, why do people hate Luongo so much? Forget about Luongo being a Vezina Candidate, forget that his team won the presidents trophy, forget that he won Olympic gold last year, forget that in this series he won the first three games including a shut out in game 1? Forget all that - his career is now ‘done’ because he choked out two blowouts.
Yeah, forget that. Chicago may or may not hold some voodoo over his psyche but the fact is he is a great goalie that most other teams would dream to have.
And for the record, I’m actually of the opinion that if Vancouver could, a smart play would be to trade Luongo and keep Schneider because Cory is awesome too and so much younger. Doesn’t change the fact Luongo is an great goalie.
I’m pretty sure Lucic defines a whole new previously-undiscovered level of stupidity; and that was before tonight’s game! I doubt he’ll get suspended, but I’ll take the 5 and game… and the goal…and the win…! Game 7 in Boston…here we come! Lucic is just dumb enough to do something stupid tomorrow to cost his team…I can hope!
I am so screwed for my exam tomorrow, but dammit the hockey tonight has been good!
Wait…was that kid surrendering? Little kid on the ice during the Nucks pregame, with a white towel tied to the top of his stick and spinning in circles…?
Didn’t see it, but it’s probably a call to Towel Power, which was born of the 'Nucks unlikely run to the 1982 Cup Final (remember the Habs run last year? Like that, only better.)
Ok, that’s a funny story. Still, seems a little funny to do it before the start of a Game 7, but at least now it makes more sense. Without knowing the back story though, it looks bad!
My mom is hilarious. She hates hockey, thinks it’s stupid…yet is following it enough to know the Habs won and she texted a “woohoo!” Last week when I was at Game 4, she watched the beginning and texted “Oh wow, Maurice Richard!” I’ll turn her into a fan yet!
Darn. I wanted Chicago to win mainly so the league would have someone besides the Sharks to laugh at. I’m less worried about Vancouver, but the rested Red Wings are first on the docket.
I admit, I was a little worried when it got sent to overtime. But honestly - I keep my faith. Being a Canucks fan is always a heart wrenching, gut grinding experience - but it is all so worth it right now.
Good series Chicago. Crawford turned out to be your best player this year - who would have guessed that.
For you Luongo haters out there - LUUUUUUUUUUUU. I said LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU for you in the back row. You`ll be back I swear but hopefully his performance tonight will shut you up for a day or two.
The bad news is now I have to wait some more before changing my lucky playoff underwear. Hasn`t been so good since the blowouts of games 4 & 5.
Crawford stood on his head. Incredible game, it’s a shame we were so sloppy with the puck all series. The Canucks were fierce on the forecheck all series long and it took a toll keeping us off the attack and allowing some gut wrenching turnovers. I really thought we had that game won on Toews centering during overtime. Damn, this takes the sweetness out of that Game 6 win I witness firsthand.
Oh that’s right. It’s been so long since they had to play that I forgot that they were still playing. Rest of the NHL is a bunch of damn slackers. I tell ya.
Probably for the same reason people go after Fleury. We lose one game, it’s TRADE HIM, TRADE HIM!!! And this is from FANS. Now most of those people are on the Flower Bandwagon. It’s enough to make you sick.
It’s always the goalie’s fault. :dubious:
(Excluding his rough start this season, he’s been on fire)
