The Star Wars Filibuster - Patton Oswalt conjures up box office gold!

I am stuck with mobile - if someone can get to the normal link, can you please share it?

On Parks and Rec, he plays some guy trying to hold up a vote. Oswalt was told to riff on something to fill time as his his character filibustered. So he shares his shot-by-shot of the new Star Wars VII episode, with a lot of interesting twists…

The man is a genius.

That was beautiful.

Major props to the extras, too, for sitting through that completely straight-faced.

Thank you!!

Saw it the other day. I do love it.

It’s fantastic. Here’s the movie poster.

One extra behind him on his left (on his right from our view) was holding his hand over his mouth. I assume he was hiding a laugh.

I would see that movie.

Brilliant!

Awesomely awesome. Wasn’t expecting the Marvel stuff, but it totally works. The best part is Amy Poehler’s objections.

A bit of background on Oswalt and Star Wars… If you haven’t heard it, you need to hear this bit about George Lucas and ice cream.

…The X-men don’t fly a Quinjet… they fly a Blackbird… This whole thing is bullshit!

It’s a fakeout! It’s driven by Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four!

By the way - I realize it is “Filibuster” - no “ph” - :smack:

Saw the ep in which it was featured - man, they barely use it! You would’ve had no idea from the show how long he rolled with this…

Thanks for correcting the spelling, Mods!!

That thing is brilliant. Everything is funny but what gets me is that he starts talking about excluding Black Widow and Hawkeye in favor of the A listers and then mentions Moon Knight. Moon Knight, ha ha ha…

Oh yeah, that was perfect. Moon Night?! I’m surprised he didn’t mention Iron Fist or Ghost Rider…or Power Man!

Well, between this and Twitter, Patton’s now King of the Internet for good long while.

I enjoyed that, but I think it’s a serious mistake to write Chewbacca and Wolverine into the same movie, but bring in Wolverine for the period after Chewbacca is decapitated.

His ideas are intriguing, but they would pretty much fill up another trilogy! And really, I want a pure Star Wars movie, not mixed with comic characters.

Speculating on who the King of the Internet is would make for a good IMHO poll. Getting my vote in early for Takei.
