I finally figured out where Yoda and Sidious are fighting - isn’t that the Galactic Senate? It appears that theyr’e throwing the seating pods at each other while fighting and jumping between them. That just got a lot cooler.
EwanMcGregor.Net Get it while you can! (Just make sure it’s the Trailer, and not the trailer PREVIEW).
After getting LarryMudd’s bittorrent link (thanks!)…
- Is DEFINITELY covered with wookiees - they’re bringing it down, and the one that jumps off flies right toward the camera, letting loose with a classic Wookiee roar as he does so! Awesome - we’re going to see the Wookiees go head-to-head with some imperial forces! It looks like the machine they’re bringing down is a giant wheel in several feet of water, so that gives credence to the “water, not snow” idea posited earlier. Cooooooooooooool.
Yep. That was Chewbacca in there.
Not sure how I feel about that. I don’t like how what appeared to be a random assembly of characters in the original trilogy now has one degree of separation between everyone.
Khan. If Chewie is as old as he’s supposed to be, at least his appearance in the generational saga makes sense.
I just noticed – that last scene with Darth Vader crossing his arms – The Emperor is standing right beside him in a dark hooded robe.
Generational saga? I have to admit, I don’t know all that much about the EU. All the same, it’s not that I mind Chewie being that old, but that he might get helped out by Yoda or some other major figure from the original trilogy.
Just to clear some things up.
- That’s Palpatine fighting Mace, in Palpatine’s quarters. As for Dooku…
he meets his demise at the beginning of the film, as seen in #34, fighting with Anakin aboard a Separatist cruiser, and in front of the “kidnapped” Palpatine in a scene that mirrors Luke and Vader’s duel at the end of RotJ
Grievous is in the trailer, twice. He’s the middle droid in Shot 14, and he is fighting Obi Wan hand to hand in Shot 45.
Yes, I know way too much about this movie.
Actually, that’s Palpatine seated. Anakin approaches from the side to speak to him.
You’ll notice the pilot in the cockpit here looks like a Jango clone. Confirmed by clonetrooper-type being flung out into space next shot
No, neither were killed, though they both did appear in the big Geonosis battle, they survived through to Yoda’s rescue. They look like holograms, attending in absentia, presumably.
Actually, three other Jedi, including the unfortunately-named Kit Fisto
Looks like a blockade runner
Actually, you missed a shot right before this:Anakin cutting down a Neimoidian
Actually, you missed a couple more shots: Sidious delivering some lightning towards Yoda
The best shot in the trailer
Impressive trailer, most impressive. Was that a double-bladed saber flashed by the Emperor in the fight with the Jedi group? That was always my favorite type to use in the video games. Several stories out today that the movie will be PG-13, which I think is a good sign. I also read today that 60 Minutes will doing a segment with Lucas this Sunday.
Actually, that is the sound of one hand petting Schrodinger’s cat.
I’m starting to get seriously geeked about this movie. That’s a sweet trailer!
Damn, that’s some good acting by Ewan McGregor.
Did you notice how Hayden Christensen looked alot like Mark Hamil in some of those scenes? I like that; Anakin Skywalker looks like he could be Luke’s dad. For that matter, I can see Leia as Padme’s daughter.
Nope. It looks a bit like it is, because Palpatine’s saber is held low and trailing to his right, and Mace Windu’s saber (Mace is obscured behind Palpatine, all you can see is the tip of his saber) is almost in line with it to Palpatine’s left. But it’s purple where Palpatine’s is red.
That old man can move!
And that didn’t look like a double-bladed lightsaber in Palpatine’s hands.
Anyone else notice how he looks about 10 years younger than he was in Ep2?
I don’t know where you get your information, but General Grievous was wholly created for Episode III. But he has been utilised already by some expanded universe stuff, like comics and novels and most visibly the Clone Wars cartoon, because in a sense it’s useful for him to be established as being a pre-existing threat before the timeline of Revenge of the Sith begins.
Just wanted to verify what GL has posted here. Had to work on a behind-the-scenes thing for the movie and, if nothing else, the visual design of Grievous was created for Ep. 3. (Apparently one of the art guys had a droid design laying around, he spiffed it up, Lucas liked it, and the rest is history.)
I’m pleased that this trailer has gotten such an overall positive response, even ver at www.AICN.com.
Now I just hope the movie doesn’t suck.
askia, your moment by moment really helps while watching the preview. i read it before i saw the preview, without it i don’t think i would have made heads or tails out of it.
thank you.
Hey, thanks. All these compliments.
Grevious is actually pretty freakin sweet in the animated Clone Wars series (the final installment of which comes out this month!) A Jedi-slaughtering nightmare.
Oh, and the Schrodinger’s cat paradox was pretty much resolved. Quantum events that interact with macro systems like measurement devices decohere, collapsing the wavefunction before we look in the box.
