Then it is Christmas decorations and outside lights time!
You mean BISQUICK?
I just rolled my keester out of bed, and I am already filled with much :grrrrrrrrrrr: for the day. I use insulin, and I made sure to order some before I left for Sandy Yeggo so it would be here before I got back. It wasn’t, and the pharmacy showed that it shipped on the 14th. OK, cool, it’ll be here on Friday the 16th.
It wasn’t.
When I woke up this morning, Sunday, there was a white cooler on the porch. That means FedEx stopped sometime after 5 last night, and the sumbitch didn’t even bother to ghostknock the door. The only thing keeping me from going completely apeshit on both FedEx and the pharmacy is the ice bags inside the cooler still had a little bit of solid to them, and it was cold outside last night anyway.
Thank you Swampy for the recipe, I knew I could count on you!! I have already had several ham biscuits, though, on regular dough biscuits. LOL I couldn’t hold out, sorry.
And so sorry about that FedEx delivery person, BBBBBobbio; don’t they know how bad it is to leave medications outside?! Geeze louise!
Couples shower was a blast, much to my surprise. No bevy of single ladies but catering by James Coney Island and tons of beer. Turns out that the Brides parents both grew up in the small west Texas town I lived in, small world.
Third attempt at posting - I just wanna say screw it!!
Last night’s leftovers have been augmented with veggies and a nice pot of veggie-beef soup is simmering on the stove. It’s so **FCD **has something easy for supper while I’m gone - he doesn’t cook. Ninjais hanging with me while her daddy is working in his wood shop.
She is truly a ninja - or at least an escape artist. Twice yesterday, she managed to get out of her pen - she’s either climbing or jumping. She spent the night under the covers sharing FCD’s pillow. Yeah, she’s spoiled…
I need to run to CVS and then fill my car and get some cash for the trip. Then pack for 2 nights while hoping I’ll be coming home on Tuesday. I do not want to deal with traffic on Weds, plus I have pies to bake!
That’s all I recall despite writing the previous posts twice.
Our son made it home 25 minutes after we left to go to our friend’s good-bye gathering. He called us when he got in the door and I could hear the dogs just going beserk because their boy was home.
We had a nice time at the get together and had a great dinner too. We hung out there chatting for awhile and then left around 9:30 or 10:00 to come home. When we got home, we chatted with our son, and then watched a movie with him.
I’m making a nice prime rib roast for dinner today and my daughter and her fiance are coming down. It’s just going to be us and the kids today and I’m looking forward to it.
I’d like to get my dogs’ kennel roof done, but I don’t think it’ll happen today. We’ll see.
Have posted the sweet NOT biscuit recipe to the blog.
Already started painting. Am doing last part of foundation and some touch ups. Am going to patch the threshold and trim between the storm and entry doors next. Woo hoo.
Read, but didn’t retain, so here are some all-purpose hugs…
Also, I’m with ya on the grrrrrrrrrr re the insulin. Stoopid X Infinity!
MOOOOOOM fwiw I can’t get the pic of Ninja to show up. Maybe she really is a ninja!
Today I have deheathenated, been to the sto’, had N.O.L. at the Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet place, cleaned, torn and placed collard greens in biiiiiiiiiiiig ziplock bags for cookin’ Wednesday, made two iron skillets of cornbread to be turned into cornbread dressin’, washed, dried and put away a load of dainties and even managed a little nappage. I feel so productive!
Yay for son makin’ it home Taters!
Yay for fun at the couples shower Jim!
gt are you paintin’ every square inch of Columbus or sump’n? I mean lately it seems you’re always paintin’.
I remember getting stuck using Medco for prescriptions when I was in Dubuque; they shipped me some insulin a couple times and got it into their heads that this was important enough that they’d require my signature to accept it, so of course, all I found when I got home from work was a post-it note on my door saying “durr… where u go?”. I checked the box saying “Deliver it, stupid”.
Bear in mind this was on a Friday.
In July.
By the time I got the insulin Monday after work, it had probably been stored in the back of the truck at about 140 degrees all weekend; I called the hotline at Medco asking if this was a good idea and they said “crikey, no, send it back and we’ll send you more.” And this time, I said, no special sign-for-it delivery. Just deliver it, mmkay?
Also bear in mind this whole scenario happened more than once… The second time, the person I talked to said “I’ve never heard of the guys in shipping doing it this way!” and I said, “Well, now you’ve heard of them doing it TWICE.”
The bad thing about cleanin’ collards is afterwards one smells like collards. Plus they are gritty so I had to clean the kitchen sink after I was done. Oh well, at least I know I have clean greens. Two, two gallon ziplock bags full even.
I managed to find a customer service number for FedEx, so I called to give them an earful. The response, paraphrased but not by much, was* We revised the schedule to show delivery would be on the 17th, and it was. Not looking out the window is your problem, so bugger off.*
Rosie you have inspired me!
