I don’t know if this is particular to the Internet Explorer browser (yes some people actually use the browser of Satan himself) or if it shows up in all browsers, but I’ve noticed that when visiting most websites there is some icon or symbol for the site in the browser bar. CBS, Wiki, and even tshirthell all have them.
I therefore posit that the Straight Dope needs an icon.

Since the browser bokmark icon is so small, we can’t use a picture of a person. Otherwise, I’d suggest Cecil himself.
Instead, I suggest the letters SD in the same colors and font used in the site banner.

I suggest an icon of a blank page, with one corner dog-eared.

I like the Torch icon used by the CoX Supergroud CECIL. Easily shrinkable to the proper size, capture the whole fighting ignorance thing…
