I remember years ago that a lot of inconsistencies were reported concerning the death of Vince Foster.
Were any of the inconsistencies based in fact?
I’m not going to list them because a quick Google search will bring them to light.
I just know, for example, in the case of the JFK assassination, that there were a lot of “inconsistencies” that spawned a cottage industry of conspiracy theories. (I’m in the LHO, acting alone, camp.) And I wonder if this might be a similar case of some inaccurate reporting that just kept getting copied and repeated.
From what I know, everyone agreed there was nothing to this suicide except for some right-wing nuts who think Clinton is involved in about two dozen murders. Sorry, I just don’t buy it…
A half dozen investigations were performed by the local police, the feds, the park service, congress, special prosecuter, etc.
Tens of millions of tax dollars were wasted on this. Not a single solitary thing was found that indicated it was anything other than a suicide. Its one of those standard right-wing “Big Lie” things.
But what about the facts of the case? Is it true (as Gordon Liddy used to aver) that investigators found long blonde hair in his crotch and carpet fibers all over his suit?
Liddy used to maintain that evidence indicated Vince got a hummer, got shot, got rolled in a carpet, and got dumped at Fort Marcy (I’m not maintaining it–he did). What do the reports say about this purported evidence? Did it even exist?
This case is rather unique in the sense many of those that might have believed the allegation of murder were eventually convinced it wasn’t true based upon the investigations.
I’m sure there were “inconsistencies”, and I’ll tell you why. Because you can find inconsistencies in anything. If you had enough people investigating whether you ate breakfast yesterday there would be “inconsistencies” which would cast serious doubt on it.
Normally no one looks for them. And even if they do, there are plausible explanations. But if there are enough people motivated to look, and people motivated to accept that these “inconsistencies” cast doubt on the truth, you can create alternative versions of reality, whether it be the JFK assasination, the OJ murders, or the Vince Foster suicide.
Sofa King, citing a world-class nut job like G. Gordon Liddy doesn’t carry much weight in GQ anymore than Liddy’s obvious references to Hillary Clinton have any credibility. The only thing these right-wing conspiracists succeeded in doing was in wasting tens of millions of taxpayer dollars in fruitless investigation. Despite incontrovertible evidence, they simply won’t give up. Read the report.
