The stupid rumors about Springfield Haitians

She looks very uncomfortable. Was the speech (also) directed at her?

As an aside: don’t you all also assume that the producers of the Simpsons already have an episode about the pet eating situation in Springfield, Ohio in the can? With vague allusions to the location of the Simpsons’ Springfield, of course starring the Crazy Cat Lady which would be an opportunity to work in a JD Vance joke. In the end, of course Lisa will save the day.

Based on her body language, I got the impression that she might have previously spoken out against the Haitian immigrants. Or maybe she was just really bored or hungry or needed to pee.

At the very end of the video, they announce another woman’s name, so I assumed she was the next speaker. It was a town council meeting, looks like.

I was waiting for the bus today. The stop was near a sign company at the corner of Mentor Ave. And 306.
They had a slew of signs.
Cat Lives Matter.
A cat in a suit and tie saying 9 Lives.

The snark is strong with this one.

I wouldn’t assume it.

Apparently production takes the better part of a year. By that point, the reference will be ridiculously dated. “6 days to air” South Park, that show ain’t.

Has anyone found an online transcript of the judge’s sentencing speech for TP? My searches aren’t turning up anything other than the videos and short out-takes in news articles.

Ask and ye shall receive.

I certainly hope not. There isn’t anything funny about spreading blood libels in order to justify ethnic cleansing.

:bowing_man:

I may adopt the term “Main Character Syndrome”.

Well, there’s this:

This Tomacco tastes like Grandma!

Why did the captioning switch from English to I assume French half-way through? Otherwise, very nice listen.

And then back. It was weird.

I assume it was a nod to the multiculturalism embodied by the testimony, and that a French Creole is the native language of Haiti.
