The Summer Solstice MMP

Happy Firday!

It’s a sunny breezy 80 degrees.
It would be nice to open the windows but I wouldn’t want the HFH to have another meltdown. Well okay I’m lying about the meltdown part.

Got my am irk done and dogs and kitty have been fed. I stayed there for a while just to enjoy the silence.

Vorlon I have no idea how the kitty unscrewed the cap. He had it almost all the way off the last time I was there. Those poor clients, they never know what they will find in the microwave or fridge when they get back from vacation.
He’s been pretty quiet so far, although he did chew up one of the notes they left for me. Fortunately not the one with the medication/feeding instructions or the check.

Nettie I should have known it wasn’t the other head.

FCM cute pic, I* liked* it. I think my next dog will be a pug. Of course it’s too soon to think about that. Sah-dog is getting older, he’s 12 this year, but I think he’s got a few good years yet. He’s a bit blind and a bit deaf and a lot grey but he gets around.

I never cut the grass anymore, that is what teenaged sons are for. Along with taking out the trash, trimming, edging, carrying the laundry upstairs, feeding the dog, letting the dog in and out. cleaning the bathtub, toting the luggage, vacuuming, and doing anything that requires a strong back. He also cooks a little and does his own laundry.
Maybe I should rent him out?

Mrs. Plant (v.2.0) left five…I think it was five, perhaps six…of her dogs in my care for a week with three sizes of dog pools, a measuring device and precise instructions concerning how much kibble each dog was to ingest per day.

I lined the dogs up in the kitchen.

“I have instructions here as to how much each of you is allowed to eat.”
I threw the instructions in the trash.
“You will notice that we have big dog bowls, medium size dog bowls and little dog bowls. As of this moment, everyone is a big dog. Your continued status of big dog is inversely proportional to how much you f-ck with me. Is that understood?”

Things went well after that.

Bummer, just got text from s-i-l, South Fork (yes, that one) has been evacuated and probably won’t survive an out of control forest fire.

Dang lieu that’s awful! Hate to see South Fork gone. Hope they can salvage at least some of it.

Finished my Spanish and Orchestra exams. The Spanish one took me the whole two-hour time slot, and I was done with the Orchestra one in less than an hour (and so were many others). There was a substitute there so everyone (including me) was just talking, playing cards, going on their phones, etc. for the remaining time.

They need to determine what Brian Boitano would do… and quick!

And that is what I miss about high school. You are ill prepared for life outside of HS, but it sure was a breeze!

Earlier in the day when I was decidedly not reading for comprehension, I read Who?'s post as “I have a Spanish and Orchestra exam at 12:15.” I could not wrap my haid around just how those two things could be combined.

Bolero.

I learnt at least one song in medieval Italian at school, I don’t see why modern Spanish would be so odd

Of course, it’s harder if you’re playing an instrument…

Ah I see! Who? had an exam on Spanish orchestra music. Makes perfect sense!

Left irk a little early, arrived at da cave and made chikin nachos which have been consumed as an earlyish dindin. All is well. Except I have to make a cake which I should go and get busy at I suppose. Life is hard!

No luck finding the garden edging we want - apparently the 24" long concrete scalloped border is no longer in demand. Except by me. I wanted 14 pieces. I found none. Bummer. But I think I figured out how to finish my gardens. We shall see.

Supper was good - ham, cabbage-n-onions, N.O.T. tots. **FCD **just finished the dishes. We have a night of chillage ahead.

Sah-son is so cute. He has been lecturing me on teh evil of marijuana, which is also called ‘pot’ you know.
I swear sometimes I don’t know from where this child came.

I slept all afternoon, lazy sloth that I am. Hot dogs for dinner because that is what the Sah-son wanted. Just hotdogs, nothing else because I was in a blurf and am surprised I managed that much without burning the house down.

I never took my phone back to BB because it started charging and acting normal. Now it is acting up again with blank screens and just now when the alarm went off some weird screen I’ve never seen before came up. It’s turning off the sound and notifications, and now I’ve got voice mails but it’s not showing any missed calls.

sari you must take that demon possessed phone back to whatever Satanic cult it came from forthwith! Or take it back to BB and let it haunt them. Either way will be good. Oh and do not smoke marijuana also known as pot. Just Don’t.

Cake is baked. Go Me! OYKW went to the store to buy one twelve ounce can of Coca Cola because I need about four ounces to make the icin’. Neither one of us are big Coke fans. However, I am also cheap so the other eight ounces will be consumed. When the cake is cooled enough I shall make the icin’. I’m goin’ all fancy and addin’ in chopped pee-kahns. I’s so nice!

I killded the MMP!

Cakeage has been accomplished. That is all.

Well, said steamroller finally decided to unpark itself from on top of me. When it did, I put my thumb to my lips & blew - it doesn’t only work in ToonTown; I is now reinflated so there’s that!
Movie in the Park tonite; Madagascar 3 I think; got a big bago popcorn & some fresh (still warm from the roaster) peanuts fer eatin’ there.

Imma thinkin’ ‘bout makin’ TN Flank Steak this wickend but maybe flying tomorrow nite so it’ll have to be Sunday’s dinner. Thought of makin’ this because there was a big ol’ bin of cheepie books in the suppermarket. I picked up a listed-at-$35 grillin’ cookbook & opened to a recipe for a vodka marinade. I bought the book for only $1.75 (tole ya they were cheepies!). I figure if that is the only recipe that is any good, it’s still a worthy investment & if it’s sumpin’ a marinadin’ in vodka how can it be bad? :stuck_out_tongue:

Swampy I once had a phone nicknamed Linda Blair. It would turn itself on and off at random, disconnect and reconnect to the blue tooth at random.
I lent it to a friend and he gave it back saying he’d rather do without a phone thank you very much. The I lent it to another friend who got fed up with it and threw it in the glove box of her car and forgot about it.
Months later she and her husband hear a noise coming from the glove box and it’s Linda Blair. Turned herself back on and the alarm was going off.
I believe they threw her in a trash can at first chance.

I would hate to inform Sah-son but the night he was conceived I was a bit* high*. First time I had smoked in close to 20 years and see what happened?.
I told him it would probably do the family dynamics a lot of good it I did get high once in a while. Nothing like not giving a shit about anything to make it easier to get along with people.

I want a piece of cake now.

Hey, I actually played some Spanish music in an orchestra earlier on this evening. Manuel De Falla. Spanish composer.

We also played this piece, a Mexican piece. Everyone just adores it! (Musicians and audiences!) It’s perhaps the most lovable piece ever written for the orchestra.

Going on that walk with the family around the block at 2 weeks postpartum was a really bad idea. And I’m all out of my lortabs. Fuuuuuuuuuuq :frowning:

8 hours of meetings in a frosty room, and a 3 hour Children’s Riot Festival later, I am home. The beerverages must flow!

Cool music, Midget. My 6th grade music teacher told mom and I that it would be best if I got a day job. I envy your talents.
