The Summer's Over, but the River Was Nice

I’ve got the MMP and MPSIMS TMI awards now! This is going in my sig!

(Side note: my belly is rumbling again, and a bathroom dash is imminent.)

Yes, Waffle House has wraps. They’re pretty good, about as good as I could make at home. I like to ask for the hashbrowns cooked inside of it, which is really good. But other than that, it’s the standard bacon or sausage (they have dinner ones with hamburger/etc also) and eggs and cheese in a grilled tortilla. I think of it as the breakfast burrito of the gods. :stuck_out_tongue:

Guess I should have gone to look for a pic when I posted that. In case you didn’t know, a buckeye is an inedible nut from the tree of the same name (I think it’s related to the horsechestnut), which also happens to be the state tree. So if you ever wondered what the heck the leaves and brown thing you see in OSU’s logo are, (dunno, you may have been desperate for entertainment), they’re buckeye leaves and a buckeye. Anyhoo, here’s a collection of images that lead to all kinds of variations on the buckeye necklace. It includes a couple of pictures of people wearing necklaces.. I was pretty impressed that one of the necklaces included authentic hematite beads in addition to 6 actual buckeyes.

More than you wanted to know, right?

So, have you written any letters yet? Go MagicEyes!

I just came back from the library where I picked up a couple of movies that they had on hold for me (Monster-in-Law and Raising Helen) and where I also borrowed Pillow Talk, because I’m just finishing a book called The Thing about Jane Spring, which is greatly influenced by this and other Doris Day movies. Since I don’t believe I’ve ever seen it, I thought I’d watch the movie once I’m done with the book.

Oh, and CD, thanks so much for sharing your gastrointestinal adventures. We hadn’t met our minimum weekly requirement for poo stories. Now we have. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve managed to take a shower and do one of the crosswords in the newspaper. Still haven’t done anything productive. I just don’t feel like it. I really should really vacuum the house, dust and wash the floors, but, well, I just don’t feel like it. I need to clean my fridge too.

I need to figure out what I’m going to make for dinner. I told Mr. Taters about the recipe I saw for Tater Tot Casserole and he commented we should have that tonight. Problem is, I would need to go to the store to get the fixings for it…and…I just don’t feel like it. I’ll probably end up going though.

I have some bananas that aren’t worth eating. I was kinda thinking of making banana bread, but I also have the fixings for brownies. Brownies or banana bread…hmmm. I wish had some zucchini. I’ve had a hankering for some zuchinni bread. I make some killer zuchinni bread. I have about three that I really like to make; one made with lemon extract (makes it really light), one made with chocolate and just a touch of ginger with nutmeg and cinnamon, and just regular zuchinni bread. I don’t like nuts in my bread though.

I think I need to find some Advil. I feel a migraine coming on and that’s not good.

We went to my mom’s today and helped her close the pool. And she gave me a bunch of plants that I’ll be planting tomorrow. And we helped her load her truck with stuff for the dump. Good thing we did that - three of the items she had on the junk pile were the mast and boom for our Laser sailboat. She thought they were flagpole parts that my dad had kept. She stripped off the sheets (that’s the ropes, to you non-sailors) and tossed the hardware. Luckily, we got it all back. But it was a close call.

So, the pool is covered, I have a bunch of stuff to plant, and the dog got petted a lot. We came home, fed the critters, then went out to the cheap Chinese buffet. The food isn’t all that great, but it’s not bad, and we both ate for under $20, so there’s that. Now we’re in taking it easy.

And that’s why I haven’t posted yet today.

I’m up…really I am. Got to get plants in the car to take to church and have to get there by 9:30. Surely I can accomplish this. Why is the MMP on the second page? It’s NEVER on the second page. Not even on Sundays. There’s a rule! :stuck_out_tongue:

Sleepy. Saw part of Caddyshack last night at Lazy Husband’s house. In the last two weeks, I’ve seen three movies at his house. One of them was good. After the movie we watched Futurama, and then headed home, because it was two in the morning.

Some time this week (maybe today) I am going to get a cuisinart. It comes with an extra baby cuisinart. I’ve missed my food processor so much since I killed it. I can’t wait to get another one. Wow, that sounds bad.

Caffeine. I need caffeine.

FCMom, You and FCDad sailing today? I just got back from a beach hike, and there were 3-4 foot breakers at my end of the bay. Might be a tad rough out there…

Tell me that you’re not going to process what I think you’re going to with it!

I’m back for a few minutes - gotta go get groceries and wine for dinner (I’m invited out, yay!). And then I HAVE to do laundry and some cleaning. Even if I don’t want to. (Oh, and Donkey, it took me a while to reconstruct what you were thinking  …nooooooo, I’m sure that’s not what she’ll be processing).

There’s just something wrong with Taters eating tater tot casserole.

I’m not doing anything exciting today. I didn’t get much done on my cover letters yesterday, so I have to do a lot of writing today. I’m just not in the mood.

No - I was working in the yard and FCD is in ManLand (that would be the basement) doing man stuff. Last time I ventured down there, he was hanging pegboards.

I’m taking a break, and I may or may not go back out and start stacking firewood. That was to be my main chore today, but since we got a mess o’ plants from my mom yesterday, I needed to get them into the ground. Which I did - mulched and everything! The sprinkler is on now, and I’m enjoying some ice water and a comfy chair. 'Twas a mite warm out there.
