Sunday morning naps are Teh Best. Time for mine…
I was up so late last night eating that free pizza. I went to bed at 5 and got up at 10. I may need a nap later on.
Jeffrey? Is that you?
Well, a fella would get pretty lonely with one of you and several of us.
Oh, I forgot to ask about an allowance and Health Insurance. Cash or check?
Home from breakfast. Second load in the washer. Fire going in the basement. Dishes done. Turkey tit and thigh in freezer, turkey carcass in pot being boiled for soup. In a few minutes, I’m heading down to my studio - I’m exhausted before I even get started!!
It’s Sunday and the temp outside has gone from 28 to a whopping 31.
More irk irk irk today.
Tomorrow the truck goes in for its safety recall notice. I’ll get them to look at why the low tire light won’t go out while I’m there
Sah-kid got his hair cut yesterday and the girl did a bad job of it. He has super thick wavy hair and the girl just chopped it off without any tapering or thinning.
We always go to Taco Hell afterwards and they were closed for some kind of maintenance, so a double disappointment for him.
I had Mrs T’s Potato Cheddar Broccoli priogies for brunch.
No idea what’s for dinner.
**sari **- we’ve got a Chevy pickup and its low tire pressure light is on also, even tho the tire pressures are all fine. Let me know what you find out!
Yeah. Nap. Me, too.
I’d like to know, too. The Buick did that for a bit. Apparently load on the wheels is measured and compared over time.
it’s an awful lot of demands for somebody who doesn’t even have a job yet. Just sayin.
I survived Ikea. Barely. Unrelated to my quest, they were having a one day special on shelving units. I snagged the last one, so I can now honestly say I am not gormless! I would have bought two Gorm shelves, but only lucked into the one because someone didn’t obey the “Two per transaction” rule.
And now, there’s a new hook in the bathroom to hold DH’s pump while he showers. All this modern technology, and the silly thing isn’t waterproof?
Get the hell out of my kitchen!
long steady gaze
I’m going to share my jambalaya recipe with y’all and for later recipe blogification. It’s good stuff. It’s called modified because it’s based off of the Campbell’s Kitchen Jambalaya on Allrecipes.com. I left a few things out and added a few things in to personalize it to my taste.
**
SpazCat’s Modfied Jambalaya**
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 tablespoon red pepper flakes
1-2 green peppers, diced
1-2 onions, diced
2 cups of celery, diced (I like to use the center stalks of the celery and the leaves)
1 can diced tomatoes
1 kielbasa or andouille sausage, cut into chunks
1 cup white rice
Pull out your slow cooker. Add onion, green peppers, celery, tomatoes, and sausage. Mix it up a little. Add rice over the top. Add red pepper flakes over the top of that. Cover and cook on low for about 7 hours. Enjoy.
Note: I added 1-2 teaspoons of cumin (can’t remember how many now) to the pot I’m making now. I’ll let you know how that goes.
He’s just tryin’ to make a livin’, just like all of us.
Who died and made you Iron Chef?
Howdy home from deheathenization and N.O.L. and laundry is washin’ and dryin’ away. Ironin’ is supposed to be happenin’ but might not cause I don’t wanna.
MOOOOOOM we went to Sonny’s for N.O.L.
Ok that’s all I got. Need to get the load in the dryer out and put the load in the washer into the dryer. Will it never end.
<sneaks in and messes up flytrap’s kitchen>
Rusty Short Order Cook is more like it…
swampy, you are an evil evil man for torturing me!
I’m done claying for the day. I made 3 yarn bowls and crashed 3 more. I also started 2 spoon rests and a hand-built bowl. At the same time, I was doing laundry, and that last loads for today are in the machines right now. There’s also a load of rag-towels on the clotheslines (it’s brisk out there!!) and a basket full of our good bath towels waiting to be folded.
The house smells turkey-riffic! The carcass is boiling down and in another hour or so, I’ll strain the broth, then pick the meat from the bones, and toss in some veggies and noodles. Turkey soup for supper! Yum!!
Trying the “feed the cat an hour or two before usual breakfast time so she won’t pester me” thing didn’t work. She still pestered, largely for attention. I’m pretty sure I now have pawprint-shaped bruises on one hip from being walked on and/or climbed (I’m a side sleeper).
Working on booting up my brain so I can drive safely to deheathenizing, and not have any too-close encounters with the local Crackerjack “drivers” (I call them that because I firmly believe many of them obtained their driver’s licenses from Crackerjack boxes. If they bothered to have any DL at all). Have to go today, since I’m teaching a class (I’m substituting with the 3-year-olds). Probably going back to bed for a while when I get home. Also really should move laundry along at some point.
My sinuses hate me, and it’s practically spring here (at least today). As of noon, it’s 61 out there, projected high 67. We’re due for cooler temperatures after today, with rain projected for Tuesday and Thursday. We’ll see about that. I frequently think weather forecasts make generous use of dartboards.
Nobody died. Rosie said I would share the kitchen.
We are getting paid for this, right?
And wipe your damned feet!
… or, “and he can’t take it off for five minutes?”
Went to look at apartments this morning: one was decrepit and the other was small. Decrepit apartment needs to have some foundation work “for earthquake stability” between now and when they rent; one side looks to be a couple inches higher than the other side so I’m thinking they may not get that work done in just a few days. Small place is small and might be too small but I’m running short on options…
