the thank god the crappy weekends over MMP

The Alcosan Open House was FANTASTIC!!! What is Alcosan? You know what flows downhill? Alcosan is at the end of that hill. They had exhibits, tours, games (I won big on their ecology trivia thing) and free food. Including the best veggie patties I’ve ever had; had a Mexican salsa thing happening that was really great ------ nothing like fake-meat-tofu-slop; these really were great. And snagged many fine gifts for various friends and relatives. All in all a great day out.

ruble, only a true MMP’er could be that excited to visit a big pile of s***.

Sari, that’s some serious truck there. You just like big trucks or you need it four hauling stuff? And if Sah-son had that much trouble, I bet his classmates didn’t do much better.

Cupcakes, mine is “Miss Jean Louise, Mr. Arthur Radley.”

Made it through the day (all three teams lost, but played well). Went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and drank a 22oz Coors Light draft (worth mentioning since I don’t drink that much beer very often). Aches are now settling in and sleepage will not be very late tonight. Mowage gets done tomorrow morning.

Howdy Y’all! We got stuff moved and then had quality cee-mint pond time followed by burgers ‘n fries. Everybody went home around six and just been chillin’ ever since. There are a buncha boxes of floorin’ stacked up in the livin’ room. Tuesday it starts gettin’ put down and become actual floors. OYKW is abed and I shall be there shortly. I’s tahrd!

Watched the movie, and loved it.

Now I’m depressed, as I’ve been watching a show on the Oklahoma City bombing. You know one thing that will always bug me? Remember that famous picture, with the little girl being held by the firefighter? You couldn’t tell if it was a boy or a girl, it was a long legged blonde kid in a diaper. Just like my nephew, who was two days different in age from Baylee Almon. He’s now twenty five, living in Oregon. That should be Baylee, maybe married, with kids of her own.

I’ve been down a lot, gaining back some weight, not taking my pills correctly. Tired all the time, and my feet hurt at work. But I have to act fine for my mom, or she will be hurt. I took her to the cemetery to mark the fifth anninversary of my dad being killed. I still get angry at the guy who killed him, and once made the mistake of telling her I had not forgiven that guy. She had a point though, when she said “What do you mean then when you say the Lord’s Prayer?” Talk about conflicted feelings.

FCM, I’ve been trying to clean up around my house, but thank goodness I don’t have many curtains, mostly blinds.

Bumba, I loved Hee-Haw. Wish there were more shows like that on now. Always liked seeing that bloodhound, or Roy on the violin, or Grandpa telling about what was for supper. A nice, safe show.

Hee Haw salutes Hi Hat KY, population 110, and Promised Land AR, population 30.

SAAAAAA-LUTE!!!

Or Rev. Grady Nutt, his routines about church made me laugh.

well aunt got the timesheets today sos alls well with that …but i have about 8 months worths of recyclables I’m getting nagged about we haven’t turned them in since back in March before the car was wrecked

There’s a place nearby i could take them to but the place is one of those even less than desirable things that sit in a parking lot and rip off the down and out outta their beer/booze and cig (and worse) money
Great aunts going to be in the hospital for a while but she cheered up when we called today… other aunt slipped on her waxed flor cause she was in her socks cut her head open and knocked herself out 911 was called and a staples were put in the cut … not a good week to be us eh ?
Plans for the eve is start dragging the Halloween crap that’s buried behind other crap in the shed … wasn’t so bad at one time when it was a family but now it’s just me and aunt and I’ve been over the holidays for 35 years … Now i must look for cheese to have with my whine lol

bumba, my dad came home with a 12" piece of railroad track once and my mom commandeered it for cracking black walnuts.

Johnny, your squishes sound a lot like patty pans. I’ve used them like chayote in soups, deep fried them and sautéed them in butter, but they’re an easy squash to work with.

sari, nice ride! If you give up Sirious, you can sync your playlist, Pandora or Spotify from your phone to avoid commercial radio. And you WILL love your backup camera, especially with a truck.

Got all the running done today, then went to see a friend play music this evening. I even took Nelson with me, as it was a dog friendly venue. I drank a Black Abbey Forty Four Beer & Carols - Black Abbey Brewery, (nice, tasty brew) and noshed on some cheese (shared with Nelson) and visited with a few other friends who came out to hear Don play.

well, crap dragged out of the shed and awaiting dragging of crap in the house…

Woke around 5:30 without prompting, so I’m up. I’ve tended to the critters, loaded the dishwasher, started the ice maker, and breakasted. Caffeination is ongoing.

**Cupcakes **- we had plastic blinds in the bathroom but they’re being replaced with a valence. And there are Levelor honeycomb blinds in the living room and kitchen - since they mostly stay stowed, they don’t get too dirty, so I’m good with them. We used to have mini-blinds and I hated them with a passion - ridiculously difficult to clean. Much as I dislike ironing, the curtains were much easier to deal with.

Thus beginneth another day. Happy Sunday!!

Good Sunday morning!
Nothing much is on the agenda for me, today. Ok, well… Crap. I need to go to the pharmacy, to pick up an Rx, or two. I’ve got steaks to cook up for dinner, so, at least I don’t have to fiddle with deciding on what to make. Sides TBD.

The new fridge arrived on Thursday morning. I ordered it from Lowe’s. I won’t make that bone-headed mistake, again!
It’s white. I ordered a black one. Damnit. But, I’m going to let it go. It’s just entirely too much hassle to complain to them about it, and have them try to make it right. When I ordered it, over the phone, I told the guy that I wanted the black one. I read him the item number. I even asked him, ‘That’s the black one, right? I want to order the black one.’ I even asked him to read me back the item number that I gave him. He said, ‘Yes. That’s the one.’ He then read me back the item number.
Obviously, it was NOT. Humbug!

Today is hubby’s last day of vacation. I’ve been lucky enough to have him home for 9 whole days. Seriously! I’m thrilled about having him here that long! But, he’ll be heading out, tomorrow. Not looking forward to that crap. He’ll be out for the usual two weeks, as always, before he’ll get back here for a day, or so. But, that’s how it goes. He’s an OTR truck driver. Damnit, though.

Have a peaceful day, folks.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 62 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 90 and N.O.S. for the day. Temps will be creepin’ back toward the mid to upper 90s this week. The big plan of the day is deheathenization followed by a <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> N.O.L. I have Chalice duty this mornin’, so I get to robe up and sit in the Chancel lookin’ all proper and dignified. This means I can’t wipe my nose on my sleeve and such.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Tomorrow is the autumnal equinox. We’re promised temps in the 90s tomorrow. What’s wrong with this picture???

If it makes you feel better, I just got my winter duvet out. It’s getting chilly at night, as well as decidedly wet and windy this week.

I’m having a very lazy weekend, ‘cos next week Uni starts up again, so this is probably my last chance for a while to do nothin’ without feeling guilty. I did just set off some veggie curry in the slow cooker, which should do me for at least a few days, and I did do the washing. I’ll run the vacuum round a bit too later, so I’m not completely slobbing.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall head out to Bada Wings to catch the Packers game.

roffeloffelpoffeloffitz Up at six. Why can I never sleep late on weekends? :frowning:

Just starting my first cuppa joe.

Morning all. It’s 71F outside now, but 8am is to early to start mowage, would like to keep my neighbors happy…will wait until 9:30am to begin, shouldn’t be real hot yet.

Even with 8 hours sleep, still tired and not planning any major activity today.

All y’all have a good Sunday.

The stairwell window is clean, and I’m working on cleaning the rest of the stairwell. The so-called dust-free kitty litter ain’t. And I’m getting stuff organized or thrown away on the shelves out there. Shelves seem to accumulate lots of crap, don’t they?

Short break, then back at it…

Rained all day yesterday and the same is forecast for today. Last night was my sister and BIL’s 50th anniversary party. A splendid time was had by all.

I have been known to sing the “bad luck” song at work; all the kids, being far too young to know its origin, think I’m just some sort of genius.

Getting ready to scout the Colony. Yet again I have nothing from the owners on what they want or expect so the easiest thing is just showing up and talking with the other “acts” and working it out on the ground. One of many reasons I don’t do all 4 days anymore.
