Two things I noticed. “Superian” is “Superman” with just one letter changed. And the voice at the very end sounded rather suspiciously like Terence Stamp.
…the hilarious thing about Superian’s subplot (for me anyway) was that he was essentially monologuing plot-points from the superman movies, from the Mt Rushmore scene to confiscating the worlds nuclear weapons to flying around the world to go back in time.
I loved it when the Tick shouted “Spoon!” at the end of S2. But I wish they’d explained why that’s his battle cry.
What explanation? “I needed a battle cry and happened to be holding a spoon at the time.” ?
Just finished. Yeah great. I loved the rubber bands on Lobstercules claws in the glass cage.
Maybe Bronzestar’s power is making other hero’s think they remember him?
I just found out that Amazon did not renew the Tick and they couldn’t find a new home.
Damn!
I’ve been a Tick fan since the original comic books came out in 1986. I think what we have to learn from the many series is that the Tick is basically a joke. It’s a very good joke, but single jokes aren’t sustainable year-after-year.
I’ve enjoyed a lot of the stuff that has been produced, comics, animation, two live-action series. They all have elements to enjoy. But maybe a season or two is really all we should expect from them.
If anyone tries again, I’d recommend they target the mini-series format. Just plan on making six episodes, or twelve issues of a comic, and end the arc there. If it’s successful, try another arc. But a sustained, renewable series doesn’t seem to make sense.
I disagree. This latest incarnation was awesome and had fully comprehensible, interesting and engaging storylines that could have played out for years and years.
I wanted to see how several story lines developed. From Lint/Joan of Arc and Superion to what the tentacle creature inside the Agent Commander was about. Also would Arthur ever remember he had taser hands?
Aye: Agent Commander’s Cthulhu-thing was at the top of my list. Finding out more and more about Kevin was a close second. I also wanted to see the relationship between Clair and Overkill develop; I thought it was very cool.
Yeah, they left a ton of questions unanswered. Why did Arthur’s lamp in his childhood bedroom speak to him in the Tick’s voice?
End of season 3 would have been a good time to bring back the Terror as well. Maybe this time with the Human Ton and Handy.
When they were looking into that villain who had supposedly been decapitated, and whose current plot involved mind-controlling people into being furniture, I was sure they were building to a Chairface Chippendale introduction.
