The TICK!

Loved the comic.
Skeptical about the cartoon when I heard about it but then loved it when I saw it.

I’m even more wary about a person-in-costume show.

They have to have the Superheros’ Night-Club, the one with the sidekick’s shack out back. The nightclub was owned by another guy who called himself The Tick. It also was attacked by the evil midnight bomber what bombs at midnight.

Do you think they can get a real capybara to be Speak?

SPOOOON!

I wonder how they’re going to make a live action chairface? Or was he from freakazoid? Damn I don’t remember now…

I loved the Tick cartoon. My favorite is the one where they go into the sewers with sewer urchin.

“It’s crazy down there! An innocent looking wallet might bite your head off! A bar of soap could save your life! A disgusting mound of goo may just have some very compelling ideas!”

(I probably really screwed that up)

I am first in line to watch The Tick! The cartoon Tick is at the top of my laminated list of cartoon characters I would like to sleep with. (Followed closely by Wolverine, but that’s another story…)

Anyway, I saw the commercials last night, and it would appear that The Tick is going to be played by the guy who played Putty, Elaine’s boyfriend on Seinfeld. It also just so happens that Putty is on top of my laminated list of t.v. morons that I would like to sleep with.

Can this be true? Are they really melding the fellows from the tops of two of my lists into one fabulous being?! I am dizzy from the thought. Here’s hoping that Mr. Sunshine has to work when The Tick comes on.

I loved the comic and the cartoon. Although I’m apprehensive about a live action show, I’m going to give it a chance. Who knows? It may turn out to be just as good, or at least close. They say it’ll be on next season. When’s that?

I think it’s going to be a mid-season replacement.

Man I love that guy! “You stole my Jesus fish!” and “High Five!”. Now I want to see it even more.

So, it is going to be a series and not a TV movie?

I just wanted to check in and say, although I haven’t seen the commercial yet, I knew about the live action version.

I LOVE The Tick. It was my favorite cartoon. Why did they cancel it? Comedy Central used to show it late Sunday nights but now they’d rather show The Critic 10 times in a row.

I agree with the person who said he’d take his Tick any way he could get it. Although I’m essentially against the idea, I’ll still watch it.

Does anyone remember Speak the capybara with a bad case of the mange? And the gingerbread men cookies that stopped attacking only when the got stale? And let’s not forget the Idea Men! Oh how I miss that show!

If he gets stage fright, does that make him a nervous Tick?

My wife doesn’t understand why I love that show, but oh well. The epsode that has my signature was on the other night. Cool!

An Animated Tick movie… I know I’d watch it. Hell, I’d buy it. And I’m as big a Tick fan as anyone, but damnit, the live action thing looks so lame.

And even if it didnt I’d be all for bombing Fox. So there.

I’ll give the TV show a shot. I loved the cartoon. I almost hurt myself laughing the first time I saw the mustache episode:

"Arthur! The mustache is … poking … my … brain!
“I can’t understand your crazy moon language!”

I wish I still had some episodes on tape. Damn I miss that show.

I absolutely LOVED the cartoon. Had me on the ground in hysterics.

But, is it just me, or do the live-action characters look like they’d be better placed on Sesame Street? This just can’t end well, and it’s sad to see the Tick degraded so much. :frowning:

(Still, I’ll probably watch the show. So sue me, I’m weak)

I have known about the live action Tick. Not sure what to think yet. I wanna watch it. I have thought all along the Patrick Warburton would be the best possibility for the role.

We’ll see how it goes…

	Oh, and......

Spoon!!!

Someone called here tonight, wanting Mr. Rilch to work on that show tomorrow! Of all the times for him to go up to San Fran! Man, Fritz (Mr. Rilch is helping him move) is going to owe him very big time for causing him to miss that.

That site doesn’t say who will play Little Wooden Boy.

Sewer Urchin’s greatest line of al time: ‘Down here, I’m kind of the apotheosis of cool.’

Lizard, I love you. I was just wondering that myself. My fav episode is when Handy yells at all the evil villians
“Read a book! You’re making us look like jerks!”
Or maybe, when the Brainchild turned The Tick into a two-headed blue bird that only speaks high school french.

By the way, in addition to my huge collection of anything
Tick, I have a tattoo (sp?) of Little Wooden Boy on the small of my back. It’s a beautiful thing!

“You can’t have a date on Craft Night!”

Another favorite quote:

Arthur: “You can’t fight evil with a macaroni duck!”

Tick: “We’ll just SEE about that!”
