I like BiPolar Bear a lot. They could have done more neat stuff with him, Lithium jokes and the like
I’ve been missing the Tick lately. And I’ve only got one episode on tape.
I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned the most hilarious character of them all, Die Fleder Mouse!
He SO cracks me up! Always preening for the next photo op, and when he gets it, he assumes command and decides “We’re going to sit this one out and wait for the National Guard.”
And you can’t forget his regular digs at American Maid:
“Shouldn’t you be scrubbing toilets, or something?”
In a weird twist of hollywoodism, Die Fleder Mouse and American Maid are both in the new TV series… but they aren’t allowed to have those names due to some perverse copyright law.
So they are called BatManuel, and Lady Liberty instead.
I’m trying to picture her as shrapnel - there wouldn’t be much of it…
Why can’t they just re-mass produce old “Tick” comics so the old ones are still collectables instead of turning it into the new “Batman” series with live actors?
Aww, that’s sweet. All I can say is “evildoers, eat my justice!”
As I type this, two feet behind me is the second-best gift I ever received: a foot-tall talking Tick doll. This gift was second only to the set of all 36 episodes of the animated series on tape.
I love the Tick.
Patrick Warburton is the only person I think could do justice to the Tick. Yeah, the big white eyes are gone…but dammit, it’s still the Tick. Ben Edlund is on board with the live-action show, so I think it’s got a good chance at being worthwhile. I’m counting the days…
