The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making Part Deux (Part 1)

I thought he was charged with second degree. Judge Pirro says he should get murder 1.

It appears that the dropping of that particular charge was based on the judge’s reading of the law, and that Chauvin’s actions did not endanger other people beyond the victim himself:

Chauvin is still charged with second-degree unintentional murder and second-degree manslaughter.

As kenobi_65 notes, this charge was dropped precisely because it didn’t fit the circumstances of Floyd’s death. And, in fact, many criminal justice folks had been saying, all along, that a third-degree murder charge was inappropriate in this case, and that a second-degree charge was the correct one. I posted about this way back at the end of May, when the charges were first filed against Chauvin, linking to a Boston Globe op-ed on the subject by two respected criminal lawyers.

But, maybe just as importantly for this thread, what does the decision of a state judge, in a state case, have to do with the clusterfuck that is the Trump administration?

What time does this start? I’ve seen some conflicting announcements. Need answer fast.

Google says from 9 to 10 p.m., Eastern time. As I recall, Rachel said last night that her show was going to be an hour early because of the debate, so that fits.

Re: Debate time. Thanks, Morgyn.

And now this: This is rich. I’ll spoiler or redact the sensitive parts for those who want to play along at home.

Borat delivers a “defense” of Giuliani:

“I here to defend America’s mayor Rudolph Giuliani. What was an innocent sexy-time encounter between a consenting man and my 15-year-old daughter have been turned into something disgusting by fake news media. I warn you, anyone else try this and Rudolph will not hesitate to reach into his legal briefs and whip out his subpenis.”

What the fuck is wrong with that guy? Are his wooden shoes too tight? Reported it? Would you do that?

They better not go into overtime. I’m on the left coast, and Jeopardy! starts at 7.

So Trump has several strong indications that he has or at least has wanted to engage in statuatory rape.

Now his top lawyer has a compromising pic which also strongly suggests same.

Yet a non-insubstantial proportion of the electorate thinks it is the Dems who do such pervy things.

The. Mind. Boggles.

I saw the scene tonight (the film has been released on Prime video) and ‘I was tucking my shirt in’ is a pretty credible response, imho. Seems to me this revelation was timed to boost movie streams, to be honest.

Borat defends Giuliani.
'What was an innocent sexy time encounter between a consenting man and my 15-year-old daughter has been turned into something disgusting by fake news media,’ he said, before using his hands to elongate his nose like the character Pinocchio when he lies.

'I warn you. Anyone else tries this and Rudolph will not hesitate to reach into his legal briefs and whip out his subpoenas,’ he added, pronouncing subpoenas like ‘subpenis’.

Individual 1 says his answers to Lesley Stahl were “magnificently brilliant”.

Surprisingly, some hackers have ethics and an unwillingness to openly break the law. Weird but true.

Any speculation on what’s up with Mitch McConnel? I’ve just seen the CNN article, but no theories - doesn’t look like damage from a fall.

Also, the article only talks about his hands, but look at his lips - looks like a Mentat who’s been overdoing the old Sapho Juice…
