The Trump administration has used the Hatch Act like toilet paper since day 1 and suffered no notable consequences. This is more sound and fury signifying nothing. The Trumpists just laugh at this and say “Ooooh! Nasty bureaucrat’s gonna shake his finger at me!” Why even bother with these toothless accusations?
The extent of this and the fact that it is dragging out is the big shocker.
You optimist, you! Thinking there might even be a chance of reforms! …seriously I’d love that to be true but fear the US is really in for an even rougher ride than we’ve already had. Reforms would require bipartisanship.
What really scares me about US so-called democracy is thinking about what would happen to the election results if both houses of Congress were controlled by ‘pubbies.

To me it looks like he just he wants to flood the airwaves with the pardons of a shit-ton of people, both guilty and innocent, so that truly guilty in the bunch won’t stand out so much. I mean, if he just pardoned Rudy, Ivanka, Jared, Don Jr, Eric, and Barr, that raises red flags, but if those assclowns are among 1000 other names (everyone he’s ever met), there’s no need for anyone to think he’s doing anything more than just being a kind old Pardon Fairy.
It’s a gish galop of pardons. So many pardons that no one can point to any specific one of them as a big deal.
Just cram it full of MAGAts and it will not be.

Strange, though, that it’s been so hard to find a buyer for the Exalted Leader’s boyhood home. My understanding is that all the Winning™ he did in his one-term presidency was such that he will soon be awarded the Noble Prize™ and have his mug carved on Mt Rushmore. Surely the place where this wonder of nature grew up (at least physically, if not mentally) should be a sacred place of priceless value!
