I retired last summer and got this a lot, especially from my Puritan Work Ethic family. I finally explained “Well, the Brits have a great term for it: ‘Fuck All’. First time writers seem to choose 1st person pov for some reason and that is really, really hard to do well.
My humble suggestion is to stick with 3rd person, omniscient or limited.
And now Trump’s heading for the Alamo… just to try to get a character in your book named after him?
I really think we (and Trump’s Cabinet) should be paying more attention to this comment and others like it. If the people who like Trump, who respect him, who think he’s a fine person can see that he is not that today, it means a lot more than when those of us who already despise him and are pre-disposed to view him in a negative light might think, IMO.
