Yes, it’s Texas I was thinking of when I mentioned “refrigerated trailers full of overflow bodies of ordinary Americans”. A lot of those bodies then must be ordinary American Republicans. Not that trump really cares about any ordinary Americans, regardless of party affiliation. Other than possibly being concerned that he’s losing votes.
I see a fundamental difference between saying “I know it’s going to rain tomorrow because my neighbor said his bunions are bothering him which means rain and I believe he knows what he’s talking about” and “I know it’s going to rain tomorrow because I am saying it will rain tomorrow and I believe I command the weather.” The first statement may reflect poor reasoning. The second statement reflects a mental illness.
The administration has to open the envelope and see how you voted before determining if you sent in a bad mail-in vote that should be thrown out or a good absentee vote that should be counted.
In Texas I have always understood absentee voting to mean early voting. You just go in person before Election Day and vote and you don’t need an excuse to prove you will be “absent” on the actual day.
So I think the deranged one is saying absentee voting is still in person and therefore good.
All y’all being so mean to the president … what are you going to say when he signs his “full and complete health-care plan”? He said he’d sign it within two weeks and, let’s see, it’s been eleven days. OK, well, he’s just holding off till the last second to ensure it’s extra good.
I think absentee voting is voting by mail because you are out of town (for example you are in the military or at your primary residence rather than your official one you keep for tax reasons) or you would have difficulty making it to the polls ( for example you are old and infirm and remember fondly the days of Jim Crow). Mail in voting is when you could vote in person but choose not to for frivolous reasons, like you’re lazy or don’t own a car or don’t want to die from Covid-19.
