The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

I’d like to think he thinks he’s protecting the country from Trump by refusing to resign. It may not require much backbone if he lacks any respect for him.

I hope so too, but man it’s hard to pin much hope on Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III doing the right thing.

Sessions has an agenda. His boss does not. He has basically free rein to do whatever he wants with the Justice Department because his boss doesn’t know, understand, or care about any of the policies or practices that Sessions is implementing.
The price for getting to remake the department in his own weird image is being constantly insulted by a guy that no one takes seriously anyway. That doesn’t seem like a horrible offer.

This.

And those crab company folks are 100% certifiable dipshit:

“I voted for Donald Trump and I’d vote for President Trump again,” he said. “But I think in small rural towns in America, we’re getting the short end of the stick on labor.”

From http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/bs-md-crab-visa-shortage-20180502-story.html

Today: “See? The President does care! He heard about our plight and has increased the quotas! All hail President Trump!”

Kim Kardashian is going to the White House today to discuss prison reform.

Uh, whut?

Sometimes these things just write themselves.

As I’m sure everyone has heard, Roseanne Barr made some anti-black, anti-Muslim, and anti-semitic remarks this week. As a result, her television series was cancelled.

Reporters asked if Trump, who has inexplicably taken credit for the show, had any comments on the situation. Here’s the quotes:

Tuesday evening:

Sanders: “That’s not what the president is looking at. That’s not what he’s spending his time on. And I think that we have a lot bigger things going on in the country right now, certainly, that the president is spending his time on.”

Wednesday morning:

Trump: “Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that ‘ABC does not tolerate comments like those’ made by Roseanne Barr. Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the HORRIBLE statements made and said about me on ABC. Maybe I just didn’t get the call?”

Trump just called Nancy Pelosi an MS-13 lover. And former GOP head Michael Steele is not having it.
“Ok, this is just a load of crap. And you wonder why Rosanne Barr and so many others feel free to drop any kind of BS (racist or just plain stupid) into the public discourse with impunity. I may disagree with her politics, but @NancyPelosi does not “love” MS-13. #JustStop

That’s the scary part - what Roseanne Barr tweeted would be just another midnight trip to the potty for the President of the United States.

does anyone know what ‘horrible’ statements he is reffering to?

As ThelmaLou already said – This.

I think Sessions has wanted this particular kind of legal power for a long time, and he’s been frustrated in that goal until Trump appointed him AG. He can put up with Trump’s name-calling, which is all focused around the recusal issue. Remember, he’s been name-called a lot worse by people who pointed out his history of racist speech/action.

I’d believe in the “Sessions is driven by integrity” interpretations a lot more if he countered Trump’s attacks on the FBI and Mueller. Have I forgotten, or has he been pretty close to silent on the issue?

Apparently, at some point, Bob Iger said that Donald Trump is the product of the “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes” having a baby.

Or Donald Trump is lying.

I was wondering if he was referring to things Iger personally had said, but that’s not in the Trump tweet:

People on ABC must have “made and said” many HORRIBLE comments about Trump. I don’t watch ABC with any regularity, but pretty much anywhere I go and anything I read or watch has a good chance of containing such HORRIBLE comments. Insert “maybe YOU’RE the asshole” proverb here.

By the way: what the fuck does it mean that comments were “made or said”? I guess he may be making some distinction between verbal and written language.

Just day-to-day reporting, I’d assume. Or maybe they said something about his poll numbers dropping.

Perhaps it was ABC News reporting that the President of the United States is a lying sack of shit.

More likely it was somebody on The View said something mean about him.

Recusal cuts both ways. Having recused himself from the Russia investigation, it would be just as bad for Sessions to speak out in support of it as it would be if he meddled or shut it down.

I am more concerned about the Many Horrible Things that Donald Trump has said, that ABC reported on without apologizing to anyone. Though I guess he was an NBC employee.

Actually, he resigned from the President’s White House Advisory Council as a “matter of principle” after Trump withdrew from the Paris Climate Accords. It’s the same sort of thing.

Melanie speaks!

“I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I’m doing. Rest assured, I’m here at the @WhiteHouse w my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!”

This, btw, sounds like none of her other 307 tweets.

North Korea said to be willing to open a hamburger chain in order to get goodwill from Trump. This is not The Onion.
