We should be careful in assuming that his incompetence at governing will be his downfall. He was grossly incompetent in business - that didn’t stop him from manipulating the public into making them believe that he was a businessman worth billions. Incompetence at governing does not prevent people from gaining more power and leverage. Most of the world’s most successful autocrats are pretty bad at governing in the public interest.
The trolling is his way of controlling what people talk about, what they think about. It also inflames passions and causes his enemies – and I don’t use that word by accident – to react and potentially overreact.
