It’s not just the White House; Rand Paul is supportive of discrediting the intelligence agencies. Lindsay Graham and others have said that the FISA warrant was without merit, despite the fact that judges weighed presumably a fairly substantial amount of evidence saying it was. Rep. Goodlatte is now saying he’s going to subpoena Brennan - for what we don’t know. Gowdy wants Rosenstein to finish (the Mueller investigation) the hell up. They’ve threatened to impeach Rosenstein if he doesn’t. This is so far beyond just hardball politics; they’re acting like the party of Erdogan or Putin.

Trump is convinced that All-Caps is the most macho thing imaginable.
He is still stinging from worldwide notice of his public submission to Putin. He’s desperate to “regain” the image of A Real Tough Guy.
But it’s Putin he bowed to. The only way for Trump to “regain” the image of being strong, is to demonstrate strength in opposing or criticizing Putin.
It doesn’t matter how many other countries he blows up. Unless he makes at least one critical remark about Putin—with no qualifiers!—then the world will continue in the opinion that Trump is a pathetic weakling.
Trump invites Putin to another meeting. Putin responds with, “Uh, maybe. Let me check my calendar and get back to you. I may have plans.”
So, after the Helsinki Humiliation, now Putin is telling Trump, “Yeah, sure Donny. I’ll get back to you.” Trump is a weak president. Or, in terms his base will understand, a cuck.
